Went there on 30th May. The weather sunny with a blue sky which made the visit very enjoyable. The main reason for going was to see the Stave church dating from 1200AD. Inside was a very pleasant lady who described the altar and the paintings around it. The rest of the museum is made up of over 150 buildings all... more

I would skip this open air museum. It is basically a bunch of old huts that are supposed to resemble life in Norway from years ago. It reminded me of the 1950-1970's where I spent my summers in the Catskill Mountains in upstate NY. Nothing special to see at all here, I would skip it. The only worthwhile building was... more

I only went to see the exhibit of National Dress, but I wish I had spent more time there. We had a nice lunch in the cafe. more

So while the museum grounds were open, the people who would normally be staffing the exhibits had the day off. But it was a great experience just to see all the different... more

It is set up like an old Norwegian village with old style homes and buildings. The most amazing thing was the viking church, which is sort of hidden on a hill. The church itself is worth the trip. The beauty of it is so moving. more
