The Vigeland Park is the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist, and is one of Norway's most popular tourist attractions. The park is open to visitors all year round. The unique sculpture park is Gustav Vigeland's lifework with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron. Vigeland was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park. The Vigeland Park was mainly completed between 1939 and 1949. Most of the sculptures are placed in five units along an 850 meter long axis: The Main gate, the Bridge with the Children's playground, the Fountain, the Monolith plateau and the Wheel of Life.

Vigeland Park is a beautiful place to visit - great for families! Our kids loved running around and there is a big playground right as you walk in off to the left. The sculptures are amazing and the grounds are kept beautifully. We really enjoyed our visit. Bring a frisbee - lots of open green space!

A must see in Oslo. Over 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. Suggest that you use the tram to get there.

I really enjoyed spending the afternoon/evening in the park, it was a different experience, the park is really cool, and I don't think many people have ever seen something like that. I recommend the visit to the park, the only problem that we had was that we were there kind of late like 7/8pm so all the bathrooms were ''closed'',... More

Really enjoyed Vigeland Park. Didn't know what to expect but I was told I had to see the Park. The park grounds are beautiful and the statues are very interesting. Some of the statues make you wonder what the artist was thinking. I highly recommend visiting the park.

Seeing this park was at the top of our list and it did not dissappoint. The grounds were beautiful and the bronze statues not only remarkable, but very touching in their humanity. Not to be missed.

Visited this park during a Baltic Sea cruise and found it unusual and fascinating. I love the concept of sculptures of the human more in numerous positions, so realistic you feel that they are watching you and want to converse with you!! Free admission and a great way to spend a couple of hours away from the city centre. The... More

This is a "MUST see" (with big letters) when visiting Oslo - or in fact, visiting Norway. The park is extremely beautiful, you can walk there for hours and not get tired of it. The statues made of Gustav Vigeland are great. They´re beautiful, and if you don´t get emotionally touched by visiting this park, I´ll be very surprised.. Also,... More

the park is very nice but the fact that there are awesome sculptures takes some of the quietness from the park since there are "packs" of tourists ogling at the various pieces; anyway nice stroll and beautiful views
