Out of the many amazing things in an amazing city, this stands out. I had wanted to see this building since I first read about it, so being able to was really a dream come true. The building is incredible and the climb to the top of the roof (yes, you read that correctly) is wonderful. Go at dusk and... More

Atop this Opera house I had the best experience in my entire 3 night stay in Norway. It was a beautiful view and architecture and it showcased all of the features Oslo had to offer... It's an old city with a very modern twist and that is exactly what this building is. I recommend anyone who visits the city to... More

The building itself is Worth a visit, not to mention the views of the city and the sea. Order some lunch at the restaurant, it is very tasty and the view is great. Get a guided tour if possible to see the back stage areas, very interesting. The opera hall itself is magnificent. You can also walk around the roof... More

We stayed at the Thon Opera which overlooks the Opera House so we got to look at it quite a lot during our stay and it is an amazing building which made a great breakfast backdrop. We went to visit it on our first day and climbed to the roof which gave great views. I do enjoy the Opera House... More

If you like modern architecture, this is a place you must visit is Oslo. Designed by Renzo Piano, it offers a panoramic view on the city and on the sea. You will feel in a very "open-minded" place. Personnel is very professional and prepared and the building is suitable for people with limited mobility (we visited with a guest on... More

To see an opera is very nice. The building itself looks very nice but the use of marble perhaps a little over extravagant. Money could have perhaps been better speant on those folks begging, selling themselves, and feeding their various addictions who are visible around here and abouts.. For me the opera house represents a stark contrast of those who... More

Take a walk up on the roof and see the great views out over the fjord and back over the city. Wrap up well on a windy day - the wind comes whistling up the fjord and its rather chilly!

Oslo Opera house is situated at the city waterfront, 5 minutes walk from the main bus and train station in Oslo. Interesting, modern building, where you can walk on top of its roof and see Olso from all four sides. You will see city that is alive, city buses cruising, cars, new buildings in progress, water and big ships in... More
