Nothing really special except the title of "the northern most brewery" -- but everything is Tromsø seems to be "the northern most". Warm wooden decor and friendly bartenders. If you are in town, give it a try.

Macks has moved outside Tromso (about 1-2 hrs drive) so there is no tour but there is a quaint Mack's pub across the street.

this place didnt make the transition from workers pub to.. what now they aim for now. open to 18:00..serves expensive beer in a terrible sitting area sized for children.

Ignoring the tour, ill informed apart from the film, the bar and beer are excellent and worth the short walk along the main street. You can try beers not available elsewhere and the beer keller atmosphere is good. Locals drinking there is always a good sign.

This brewery tour lasted about an hour and included a free drink at the end. Interesting, though unspectacular. The Beer Hall offered a wide variety of bottled and keg beers to try and is a great place to meet people.

Visited Tromso in February, heard of the Mack brewery. Decided to take the tour. Wasn't the cheapest, but nothing in Norway is! Enjoyed the tour, kind of what you would expect from a brewery tour. Great beer, really friendly staff but tours were very limited and I was not able to go on one which I was very disappointed about.

I was most pleasantly surprised at the excellence of the beers brewed and sold here. Mein Host, advised us as to the characteristics of each brew all of which, bar one, were sampled. The exception was the one that they distribute throughout the rest of the country and which he thought was a bit inferior!!
