I mean, you can, but why bother? What you want to do is save your money and try and load of the beers available in the pub. Just ask the staff for your preferred choice. The menu is staggering! IPAs, Double Black IPAs, Stouts, Pilsners - it's all here. And there are crisps too (for £3). There's a stuffed Polar... More

Great choice of bottled beers at Mack's Brewery, Tromso, and you can sample the locally brewed ale next door in their pub. Wish we'd had time to take the tour of the brewery which I'm sure would have been interesting. Next time!

The Mack Brewery was established in 1877. They make a large variety of beers and you can sample them at the pub where they have a brewery tour. It's a popular tour so a reservation is a good idea. The guide explains the brewing process in detail and they offer a sample during and after the tour. The beers are... More

A great place to take a long afternoon break and enjoy the variety of beers they offer! I went with a best friend and we had so much fun. Staff were friendly and met some fun interesting people as well.

We took the tour and had a fun time. The staff was friendly and gave a (little too) long narrative of the Mack brewery's history and brewing process. They make lots of different beers. We sampled the light beers upstairs, then visited the pub next door for a mug of beer. Tasty. The pub had a great atmosphere, too. The... More

I went in November 2012. Don't go for the beer! Unless light pilsner is your thing. But go for the stuffed polar bear, the atmosphere, the sheer insanity of Norwegians drinking beer at 3 in the afternoon as the sun disappears and it feels like its 10 at night!,

If you are travelling up the Norwegian coast, and visiting Tromso, make sure you visit the Brewery. It has an excellent bar and the first litre is free. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We visited one lunchtime to try a couple of the many beers brewed by Mack brewery, the northernmost brewery on the planet. The beers were very nice and it seemed to us a little cheaper than many other places in Tromso, 79 NOK for a large and 45 NOK for a small. Atmosphere was excellent and friendly with the obligatory... We spent a very pleasant hour here enjoying the atmosphere and the beer - we found the `dark' beer was nicer than the `light' beer, but what do you expect from a Brit! The bar was obviously on the tourist trail as well as there were several groups in there with the locals. Just remember that alcohol is expensive and... More
