MS Vulkana is the result of a dream and a wild idea between friends. The owners of the boat share a passion for the beautiful nature in Northern Norway, sauna and bathing as well as excellent food. Together with the respected Finish architect; Sami Rintala, they transformed what once was a old worn out fishing vessel into a adventure boat, inspired by bathing cultures around the world. The Vulkana gives you a unique way to access the majestic coastal area of Northern Norway in a comfortable setting. We focus on high quality food with seasonal and local ingredients, comfortable cabins, service minded crew, cleanliness and a low key but still exclusive feeling. Vulkana has taken us in to the fjords and down the coast; bathing, skiing, hunting, fishing, eating, drinking and enjoying life in the sauna, hot-tub og Hamam under the midnight sun and the northern lights. Vulkana is a place for activity and energy as well as an oasis for tranquility and contemplation. Welcome on board for your adventure

Not only can you take in the majestic mountains of Northern Norway while relaxing in an outside bathtub, but you also have the choice between a regular sauna or a Turkish hamam to further your relaxation. Me and my colleagues went on a team building trip and found the shared experiences of going on a mountain hike, fishing and visiting... More

Vulkana was an amazing experience. We traveled on a busy day but there was still space to rotate through the Turkish sauna, hot sauna, and hot tub. The contrast of heat and Arctic winter were invigorating. It sounds crazy, but you must try it: warm up in the sauna, hop into the Arctic ocean for a spectacularly cold--and quick!-- dip,... More

Before going to the boat I had a picture of a nice little boat with a hot tub on top of it, but boy was it so much more! First off all I was suprised of the size of the boat and with all it had with it. Everything was well organized and in order. We were out on a... More

We had to wait for the boat that was late, there were (in my opinion) to many people on board. the bathtub outside was NOT hot enough, we had to go in the sauna to heat up. Bathing in the sea was a good experience though. And then the food, a completely RAW bacalao, with no taste. we were very... More

Thank you for your comment on a trip with Vulkana, although your experience with us seems to be some years a go. A lot has changed, and I do believe we have had the chance to learn and improve a lot the last years. Welcome back on a trip with Vulkana, and hopefully you get a different experience! Kind regards... More

A friend of ours that works on the boat suggested we go so we did and it was totally worth it! I had never heard of a spa boat but it such a great idea and very well set up. There is a hot tub, sauna, zen lounge and hammam all of which you can use at anytime and in... More

The Vulkana cruise is absolutely a must-do while in Tromsø! An amazing boat, where you can see the beautiful northern lights while relaxing in a hot tub. Great people who work there, and jummyjummy food :)

We had found this activity on TripAdvisor and we were not entirely clear on what it was, so we proceeded to call it the Crazy boat. This would turn out to be accurate. To start with we felt a little out of place as we were the only non-Norwegian-speaking people on the boat. But once we were out on the... More

I'm not sure if this is review of a restaurant or an attraction.... Either way it is execelent! The boat it self, the view, the food, the hospitality is all worth it. Bring your friends, your colleagues or your family and enjoy the icecold water, a nice warm sauna or some fishing. Highly recommended !

I came to Tromso to fulfill my fiancé's bucket list of seeing the northern light but Vulkana was my little treat. As I was reading the To Do List on trip advisor Vulkana caught my eye because it said you could jump off the ship and into the arctic sea. I'm always up for an adventure and what could be... More
