What a treat for Texans! We booked the dogsledding adventure through Hurtigruten. We were picked up outside of our hotel in Tromso and driven through beautiful countryside to the dogsledding "headquarters." There, we were outfitted in heavy-duty snow suits, divided into small groups, and given a brief lesson on steering and braking the sleds. Then we were off into the... More

We got picked up from the Iskavshotel by the harbour and drove to Camp Tamok where we got changed into the snow costumes. Our group was divided into 3 smaller groups with a guide to each. Our guide was amazing, and helped all of us during the way. This was one of the best experiences in my life! A sledge... More

I went for night snowmobile on the 1st day. The trainers are good and they are very patient. Even when some of us made mistakes and have some minor accidents, they are fast enough to respond and they assist you immediately. One of the best experience is when we get to see the northern lights at night during snowmobile. Up... More

My husband andI I boke this trip as part of our week in Tromso. We were picked up very promptly and taken to the site. There were two other couples in our group. We got given suits, boots, hats and gloves to keep us warm. We took it in turn to drive th sled. It was much harder work than... More

We booked this as an excursion from Hurtigruten. We took a bus to the camp and split into 2 groups (6-8 in each group). Our group did Reindeer sleighride first, which was a pretty cool experience. We learned a bunch from the farmer that raises the reindeer as part of a farm. It was truly a once in a lifetime... More

With my brother we had booked riendeer sledding in the evening and dog sledding in day time. Bot Sami giudes and dog carer were extremely friendly, told us lots of stories, took lovely pictures and made our stay amazing. I do reccomend them to make best of your stay in northern Norway.

We did the dog sledding here. The staff were friendly. We had jumpsuits provided and other items of clothing such as gloves etc. We were taken down to where the dogs were and were told what we need to do regarding controlling the sled among other things. It was two people to a sled and at half way round the... More

It was a beautiful evening - clear skies and crisp snow. They kitted us out in snowsuits, boots and gloves. We took it in turns to drive the snowmobile, which was strenuous to steer. Half way through we were on a frozen lake and we were allowed to do what we wanted - so we raced around. But then the... More

Went with a friend who was challenging herself for her 70th. We did that alright. Stayed in a tent in -20C but we weren't cold! Drove a husky team at night - so good. Went snowmobiling up in the mountains close to the Finnish border - what a buzz. Met the dogs the next morning for a cuddle.. Wish we... More

I went for the dog sledding tour and had a wonderful time. The sled dogs are very friendly and LOVE what they do! People on the tour are paired up and each gets a turn riding in the sled and then driving it, pulled by a team of huskies. Afterwards, you're rewarded for your efforts by a warm Sami-style meal...
