Description: We started out as a home for dogs in 1988, since then our passion for dogs...
We started out as a home for dogs in 1988, since then our passion for dogs and life in the nature has taken us on an exilerating journey. Today we're one of Tromso's leading tourist destinations with over 300 dogs. Our main tours are with the dogsleds but we also have Northern Lights tours and snowshoe rentals. In the summer we have Kayak trips, a wide range of tours and hikes with our huskies and puppies as well as glacier hikes. We'll provide warm clothes on all our tours to keep you warm while enjoying the Arctic Nature.

Despite the cold, a lovely walk with the huskies

Run by a lady who participated in the longest huskies race in Alaska, it is amazing to see the 300 huskies and their babies. All very friendly, we could walk among them and pet... read more

Run by a lady who participated in the longest huskies race in Alaska, it is amazing to see the 300 huskies and their babies. All very friendly, we could walk among them and pet them. Walking with them is another story as they pull hard on the harness but we all managed to handle them on a one hour walk.... More

My sister and I had a wonderful day off our Hurtigrutin Ship this summer, with a visit to the Villmarkssenter! Here is an educational, interesting and unique experience for those who love animals and cuddling newborn puppies. Sled dogs are trained here and they are working dogs, but the highlight of their day (and ours!) is greeting visitors with VERY... More

My boyfriend and I did the puppy training experience here last month, and it was definitely one of the most memorable moments of our trip to Norway! We were picked up on time in the assigned location, and our guide Christine was super nice. Once we made it to the husky home, we were given clothes to change into (husky... More

We went on the Midnight Sun Mountain Hike – Tromsø Villmarkssenter booked via the tourist information in Tromsø. Our hosts marit(a) and her friend were very kind to us and made sure we were okay with the speed and the walk all the time. We got some lovely baguettes and delicious chocolate cake. And when we were up higher we... More

If you're looking for a good value northern lights watch close to Tromso this is a good choice, with a short coach transfer from the town. I was a little sceptical we would see any, given it's so close to the town (and generally better to see northern lights on a tour where you can go to them) so concentrated... More

We'd booked the Dog Sledding for Villmarkssenter Tromso as no other agency was available at the end of April and hence we did not have a choice. However, it turned out to be the best experience of our tour to Norway. Since it was the end of April, we were the only couple which was picked up from Tromso and... More

I stayed all night in the camp. Looking the Aurora for more than 3 hours close the fire. I slept in the camp with some cold. At the next day I enjoyed the sleeding dog. Friendly staff, nice food and quite zone.

We booked dogsledding with Villmarkssenter. We emailed them from the UK and they were very efficient in replying with good information. > > We were picked up from outside the Raddison Blu hotel (Tromso) in a big coach and driven about 30 mins to the sledging base. > > > The trip was very efficiently organised, included very warm clothing...
