Description: We started out as a home for dogs in 1988, since then our passion for dogs...
We started out as a home for dogs in 1988, since then our passion for dogs and life in the nature has taken us on an exilerating journey. Today we're one of Tromso's leading tourist destinations with over 300 dogs. Our main tours are with the dogsleds but we also have Northern Lights tours and snowshoe rentals. In the summer we have Kayak trips, a wide range of tours and hikes with our huskies and puppies as well as glacier hikes. We'll provide warm clothes on all our tours to keep you warm while enjoying the Arctic Nature.

We booked dogsledding with Villmarkssenter. We emailed them from the UK and they were very efficient in replying with good information. > > We were picked up from outside the Raddison Blu hotel (Tromso) in a big coach and driven about 30 mins to the sledging base. > > > The trip was very efficiently organised, included very warm clothing... We visited as part of a package holiday. We arrived by coach and those needing their special warm clothing were soon kitted out. We were then transported out to the reindeers for a sleigh ride, after meeting the reindeers. This ride was very relaxing and enjoyable but we did miss out on a lassoing experience. After the ride there was... More

The positive experience with Tromsø Villmarksenter starts with the friendly and professional staff at the office downtown Tromsø. Once at the camp you get all the clothing you need for the sledding experience. Before the sledding, our knowledgeable guide took us for a tour of the dog yard and told us stories about the huskies and the farm that I... More

Visited in march, tried to book with another company but the trip we wanted had sold out so took this one. Location is very close to the local town and pretty big and packed. Lots of groups turning up so you end up waiting a long time to get started. Some basic food is served in a 'sami' tent which... More

Nice spot. It would not take a lot to make it a great experience... Guide was very good but spent only few time with us. He told 3 stories and then done...(was feeling very contractual), diner was very basic versus "the Sami diner experience" (expect soup and tea). We were unlucky not to see any light so we went to... A fantastic experience dog sledding. Friendly staff and showed us how to handle the dogs really well. The scenery was fab. The dogs were lovely and friendly and eager to work.

We enjoyed every minute of it. Managed to drive my own sled, which was really cool. The staff were nice and friendly. Must do while in Tromso.

We booked a northern light visit tour the 14 March. The weather conditions were ideal and indeed that nights many groups experienced nice auroras. We were satisfied with the guide, he was well prepared, cared for everybody, served the dinner in a Sami tent. The reindeer soup was ok, but nothig special. The only disadvantage of this tour is its... More

We had a 'northern lights visit' activity booked with them. The people were friendly and it wasn't too far from town where we were picked up from. When we got there we were given the jumpsuits to wear and other things if wanted. After we put them on everyone went to a fire and sat round that and were told... More
