We could have been disappointed with our dog-sledding trip as we came back to our hotel room after breakfast to a voicemail and text on my phone from the centre - my first concern was that for some reason the trip was cancelled. When I spoke to Alex on the phone he was lovely and incredibly apologetic - we had... More

Stayed in this camp inspired by the traditional Sami camps with wood fires inside. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. Set up bon fire on the hill facing the fjord, provided warm overalls, gloves and boots for us. The whole experience was unique, not nearly as touristic as other northern light hunts in other countries I've been... More

This was one of the best things I've ever done and it's suitable for all ages. When you first arrive you have the choice to change into boots and snow suits that the company provides, which we all did, saves your clothes getting dirty and they're super warm. You then get split into groups, we went mushing first, (if you... More

If you want to view the Aurora Borealis you're probably better off waiting and booking on the day for a trip with a company who only take your money if there's a chance of seeing the lights. We had booked ahead on a Northern Lights trip here and on the day it was thick unremitting snow & not a chance... More

I took 2 trips with the Villmarkssenter - Northern Lights evening trip and Dog Sledding daytime trip. On both trips the bus was ready on time at the Radisson Blu hotel for the 25-minute journey to the Villmarkssenter base and upon arrival you are given the choice of warm clothing - snowsuits, boots, hats and gloves. For the Northern Lights... More

We went here for half a day dog sledging for my wife birthday. The place is quite well organised and the sledging part was excellent. Specially since we got our one sledge we were "driving" our self. I don't think it would have been nearly as fun just to be an passenger on a sledge. After the sledging part we... More

The dogs are well cared for, friendly and absolutely beautiful. The staff were organised. The sledding itself was a lot of fun, it was freezing. I recommend that you wear thick socks. We had a nice cup of tea after the excursion and the dinner was warm and filling and was followed by a decent slice of cake.

The setup they have is very professional and quite well organised (e.g. with warm clothes), if a little commercialised. We went for the daytime dogsledding, which is quite pricey. Although you are at the center for 4 hours there is just one hour of actual dogsledding. I though some of the rest of the time would be a tutorial for... More

I booked the half day (morning session) dog sledging. The day started at 9.45 with the bus pick up and the journey took about 25 minutes to arrive at the Villmarkssenter centre. It proved a popular excursion and there were about 30 of us in total. The centre provides the necessary clothing for the activity although we were already kitted... More

We enjoyed both our tours : with the dogs (very nice experience) + with the snow shoes at night (we saw Northern Lights and had a backpak with some biscuits and tea and coffee) . +++ : warm clothes, VERY friendly staff !! , nice place + good service --- : the price is very high for what you get...
