Old and outdated, but unique and true to it´s mission. I´m a WWII buff. Members of different museum, including IWM, Berliner Unterwelten etc. But this is a pearl! Enjoy

I wandered in as the outside looked interesting, and what a find. As an American, we hear so little about "The War" before we entered the fray on the day "that shall live in infamy." This little museum opened up my eyes to a series of events that impacted the early direction of the war, and continues to leave its... More

For the small place that it was, the exhibition in the museum was so, so rich with content it was hard to take all in one go. The museum could update the presentation, but altogether the message gets through. It was very educational, even for my young son. He was, in the beginning, excited about the tanks and other contraptions.... More

We were invited to sit initially and watch a movie on the history of Narvic's place during the war. The guide then gave us some verbal history and took questions before we moved on to roam and follow and view various exhibitions through-out...Very educational and gives a good history of events around this area......Particularly around the need for the control... Narvik is a rather grim and industrial looking town and the only noteworthy attraction is the moving War Museum. It is a very educational museum, describing the battle of Narvik of 10th April 1940 in graphic detail. This is a part of World War 2 we rarely hear about. The Germans wanting to get their hands on the Iron Ore... More

We came the day after the museum had had a break-in so the place was a little disturbed. There is a lot to see about the Battle of Narvik in 1940 and then you realise how the people here suffered in the war. The museum is run by the Red Cross. It is the most important thing to see in... More

I was vaguely aware of the German occupation of Norway in WW2 and of a naval battle in Narvik but this museum provided much more information and had a good selection of exhibits too. As others have said, it is difficult to follow the logic of the layout and the written information in English is confusing; it definitely needs a... More

This museum explores the German occupation of Narvik and surrounding areas during WWII and is well worth seeing if you are a history buff. Although the exhibits have captions in Norwegian, English guides are available at the reception desk. However, the key for the guide was complicated and it took some effort to decipher. The stories and video (in both... More

This is a very comprehensive museum with themed exhibits. The exhibits themselves don't have English captions but you can tAke a guide in English around with you. The layout is complicated and somewhat confusing but very interesting material. We thought there could have been more about the Resistance Movement.
