We decided to visit the Olympic Park by walking and hiking. So, our trip starts form downtown of Lillehammer up to the ski jumping tower. It was a very nice trip and somehow needed after few day with almost none physical activity. The complex for ski jumping is quite impressive. If the weather is good the landscape is breathtaking and... More

Skiers were training on the ski jump during our mid morning summer visit. Fabulous to watch them up close working on the artificial surface. While you can catch a double chair to the top, the 938 steps are relatively easy and can stop to take photos as an excuse to get your breath back if suffering. This time of year... More

We enjoyed the view high above the city, visiting the ski jump and buying some souvenirs at the gift shop.

We had a great time there, rode the chairlift to the top, took our picture in a sled, and enjoyed the winter Olympic ski museum.

From the technical point of view the ski jumping park is very interesting and it worth the visit. If there is a sunny day the light over Lillehammer is beautiful and the landscape is wide so you have a beautiful panorama from this point. The sunset is a pleasant view to watch it from here. During the day the chairlift... More

If you are in Lillehammer, I recommend adding this to your list of activities. Our whole visit to the site took about ninety minutes and we took our time enjoying the view and photo opportunities. The climb is worth it-if only to appreciate what the athletes are looking out at before their runs! We were there in the off season... More

Nice walk to the Ski Jump, you can take the stairs all the way to the top of the Jump = 1.000 stairs !!!!! There is also a chairlift but does not work always. A challenge to take the stairs, but you get rewarded with very nice views of the surrounding nature.

Tobboganing is super cool! Lots of fun that anyone can enjoy, no skill required, just a bit of courage. I recommend visiting the ski jumping ramp at night: it is nicely lit, and the view from the top, over Lillehammer at night is beautiful.

We went tobogganing which was terrific. A long course, fast and furious for an old person like me, but something to get the adrenalin surging. The area is beautiful and a great place to visit.

We had a hire car, so drove the 10km north to the "Bob" (sleigh) run on other side of lake at Fåberg (follow 'Bob' signs). Free parking, we struck lucky, luge athletes were going down the course, what a hoot! Whooosh!! They reckon up to 80mph/125kph, they scoot past so fast! Numerous vantage points to watch from. Also went to... More
