It's a good walk up a steep hill from Håkons Hall (site of the 1994 Olympic hockey games and a nice little museum now) to the base of Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jumping Arena (site of the 1994 opening ceremonies). But it's completely worth it to take the chairlift up to the top of the ski jump. There are spectacular views of... More

If you are not a super runner, you can drive to the area atop the ski jump. Do make the drive up and check-out the jump. You will learn a great deal about how a ski jump really works, which is just more than slapping on a pair of skies and sliding down a hill. Besides, the views from atop... More

If you are in Lillehammer, you must visit the Olympic park. The Olympics turned a small village into a bustling metropolis and the story is told here.

We did the bob craft (cheaper than bobsleigh) was totally exhilarating. Only problem is getting to the venue. We weren't driving so it involved a bus and taxi which was costly. The ride luckily was worth the hassle factor, it took us best part of 4 hours to get there and back. Same with the tobogganing venue. A near enough... More

Offers great activities for groups and companies. A bit pricey if you choose the most actionfilled activities (like bob-sleigh). Ive tried it myself and is a lot of fun! For families I recommend the toboggan next to the ski-jump. Not to expensive and great value.

I commented when reviewing the ski jump that a place like this in the US would have controlled access. The openness of the Olympic Park was a really pleasant surprise. Where couldn't we go? The top of the stairs at the torch (Not really safe) and the royal/VIP boxes in Hakon's Hall (Didn't expect them to be open anyway). The... More

The ride up the ski jump hill makes it all worth it. Not a cloud in the sky and 70* what more could you ask for. A terrific view of town , but you cannot get off and enjoy the view. Seems a waste to have to ride it down and not be able to even get off. Would like... More

The Olympics are always inspiring. It was great to be in the area where it all took place. Definitely worth visiting.

we stopped off here because we were curious to see the site of the olympic games. i didn't expect the ski run to be so high, there is no snow at this time of year so we were surprised to see skiers using the slopes. they are hosed down with water in order to make them usable. it was really... More

It was awe-inspiring to be able to walk or take a chairlift to the top of the olympic ski jump and look over the top
