If you love schmetterlings you'll love this attraction, otherwise...why are you are you going to a schmetterlinghaus? I'll do the negatives first: very hot, very humid, not all that big, expect to see dead butterflies sometimes (hint: they look alive in photographs and hold still better. "Look ma! It landed right on my nose!"). On the plus side it is... More

We thought that this butterfly house was a great value for only 5 euros per person. There were not as many butterflies flying around as compared to other ones we have visited, but they were beautiful nonetheless. It was extremely warm inside, but peaceful with waterfalls and fish- filled ponds, as well as gorgeous flowers.

This was a great little butterfly house, as they flit one place to another you will miss some lovely butterflies if you only go round once. It is hot inside so be prepared to take layers off. It is not a large place so take your time and watch out for some exotic butterflies!

We loved it here! There are some beautiful butterflies and it was fun watching them flutter about. One even landed on my boyfriend's shoe! We got some excellent photos and spent a fun hour or so enjoying the experience. The admission price was about right for the size of the place and the amount of time we spent there. The... More

I am so glad I traveled to Vienna with my little son, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to this small yet beautiful attraction. Walk along a short round path while spectacular butterflies fly above your head, land on the flowers along the path and if you are lucky enough land on your shirt. Please note that it is extremely hot... More

It is a very interesting place. Specially in Winter when it's cold outside :) I would recommend it to everyone but don't expect any special effects :)

The butterfly house housed very few butterflies and was very small. Our 10 minute visit left us very disappointed as from the outside it looked very spacious and interesting but there was very little information inside and the right hand side of the building is actually a cafe.

The only real reason we visited was because the snow and wind were too bad to do anything outdoors, but that said, this was a lovely well-presented butterfly house with some beautiful butterflies and plants to see. There was an incubator by the door with many different chrysalises so it was very interesting.

I stopped in the butterfly and palm house while walking around the area with my friend. We failed to realize that it's incredibly hot and humid inside of the house. It was 90 degrees that day so we could only tolerate being inside the even hotter butterfly house for a short time. Inside there were a lot of butterflies but... More

In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
