This is where my husband and I came to relax after a wonderful bike tour. Not only are the gardens just beautiful but you are surrounded by magnificent buildings all around so you never forget you are in beautiful Vienna.

Since I went in the winter time, the flowers weren't out but I can tell this park is well maintained. Find a bench to hang for a bit and people watch or just stroll. Can't go wrong here...

A quiet sanctuary across from the Parliament and adjacent to the Burgdorf. in the midst of the city. Hundreds of thousands of hybrid rose bushes bloom in Spring.

I'm used to the roses in Los Angeles not having any scent to speak of, and petals wilting as soon as the thermometer tips 100 so upon entering the shady cool paths of the park and catching the full floral essence of the 100 variates of rose, I was sold. The colors, the smells, the meandering path -- all made... More

This park is very beautiful, at least it was when we were there with it's flowering rose bushes and well maintained gardens and lawns. The statues and fountains too enhance the surrounds and is the place to go if you wanting some time to unwind.

Located in between the Rathaus and the Hofburg is this neatly laid out park. There was the white Theseus temple and a small fountain in front of it. Across the way from here was the parliament building with the massive Athena fountain at the front of it, and numerous statues atop its roof, including several winged chariots. It was a... More

A small but beautiful park with a Greek style temple at its centre, and masses of red rose bushes. A pleasant place to sit and relax before continuing the tourist trek. Plenty of seats, toilet facilities, and refreshments available.

Exquisite, gorgeous display of roses, old favourites and some you've never heard of. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Vienna. Late May was the perfect time to see it.

the volksgarten is a not remarkable park. but opposite there is the national library well worth a visit, and the main university, full of life. in the back there is the dicotheque "volksgarten" famous for good musik - if you are fit & young enough to spend a night there ..;-)

Volksgarten (People's Park) is one of handful of public spaces near the Hapsburg Palace that makes for a nice place to rest your feet from sightseeing during your time in Vienna. Located between Burgtheatre and Heldenplatz, these were the grounds of city fortifications that were destroyed by Napoleon's army in 1809 and later converted to a public park in 1823.... More
