Quite impressive rose garden with hundreds of different varieties. When those bloom you can get some of the best pictures with the Ringstraße in the background you can get. Entrance is absolutly free and its located opposite of the Parliament next to the Heldenplatz and the Opera so you can't miss it when you visit those. Usually its quite relaxing... More

Vienna has some impressive parks, and this is definitely one of them. Situated in the historic city centre, this park is secluded and quiet with museums, shopping and wonderful architecture all around it.

Great place to have a walk or run. We saw street musicians and we relaxed on a bench on skinny winter day. The surrounding area in beautiful and calming to watch from the park

This large park in the heart of the city is a great park for walking. A lot of nice foot paths and lots of places to sit and just be lazy. Very popular with locals. A great place to watch life in Vienna.

The garden is a part of the Hofburg Palace and its area was originally used for fortifications, which were built in the 17th century just to be later destroyed by Napoleon’s army. The park was opened in 1823 and today contains several monuments and fountains. It is a very peaceful and relaxing open area, a romantic escape from the bustle... More

The People's Park ( Volksgarden ) is a great place to just stroll around and enjoy this lovely open area of greenery and plan out your day. I like to just have a little walk around here especially if i have had a good night out previously as it's a great way to clear your head. We were over in... More

It's a kind of peaceful and serene meeting point in Wien. Really charming and it's possible to feel some aristocrathic idea and almost Mozart running around. I felt that there was were people can be relaxed, especially in a cold day as I went.

One of many places you can rest on one of many park benches and enjoy the flowers and shade of trees. Especially the roses in the summer are wonderful. Walk around in the park at leisure, much is to be seen.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
