This past week we took a taxi from our hotel to this museum. The guard at the museum told us that the museum has closed permanently. We were very disappointed. More

One of the best museums in Vienna or even in Europe. It's not directly in the centre (in the Inner City) but it's not far either. The palace is huge, a little bit too monumental (the typical Liechtenstein taste...), the collection is fantastic. The ivory works must be seen and of course the Badminton Cabinet. Take your time!!! At Sundays... More

Go for the building and its grounds. Its collection, I found, did not harmonize with their surroundings. They created more like a jolt, unlike what finds at Schloss Schonbrunn, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, or the Belvederes. More

An amazing private art collection in an amazing building. The spacious palace seems to be restored only yesterday and the art collection shows the same kind of quality. The collection is not huge but it fills the entire first floor of some 8 rooms and considering that this is a private collection makes it enormous. Built chronologically, the collection contains... It is definitely one of the main hot-spots for culture in Vienna. It is not located directly within the centre but still easy to reach via tram "D". It is less crowded and a hot tip to get to see extraordinary pieces of art! More

A great collection, but a troubled museum. I heard it's closing to the public and will be appointment-only from now on. Not sure if this is true or not. More

Maybe it's because I like to fantasize about the museum being my private home, but it really is a lovely place to visit. My favorite time is on a Sunday afternoon in the summer. Take a stroll through the magnificent rooms, definitely visit the gift shop and have a coffee outside just off the front lawn. The exhibition changes regularly,... More

We just visited in November, our second time. We regretted that we were not there for a Sunday concert but once more we loved the museum. After we returned home, we learned the museum is closing to the public after the first of the year. This is one of our very favorite museums in Vienna and we will miss it.... More

I went here as one of the receptions as part of a conference I attended was held here. We had a guided tour which was helpful. The art was fascinating but if you're not into art galleries, find something else to do. More
