The outside of this church seemed so simple. I almost past right by it....having seen so many churches in Rome, Paris, etc. However, when I entered, it took my breath away. Small, yet colorful, vibrant, full of life. This is a must see. more
Peterskirche is easy to pass up, but you shouldn't. It is just off of Graben and people get all distracted with the Hofburg Palace in one direction, Stephansdom in the other, and the multitude of people in this pedestrian zone. This tiny church is located off of the main square containing the barqoue Plague Column, and down a small side street. It has a unique shape, different from the traditional cross-shape layout, and like most of the churches of Vienna, it is beautifully baroque inside. Just loved this church. One of my all-time favorite churches ever, & I have been in many churches. Went to St Stephan's & happened to stumble upon St Peter's & went to 12:30pm mass in St. Peter's.
