This place is by far the best Irish pub I've ever stepped in!! Nestled between the fancy shopping streets of Vienna, if you were not aware of this place you can only pray that you stumble across it. Unlike the mythical pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, The Bockshorn does exist and is well worth going in... More

This place does have a nice decoration, for my taste that is. It is too small though, so small that even if you find a spot for yourself you 'll have to be constantly on the move to help people enter or leave the place, or even reach the toilet. Because it's so small and apparently a smoking place, there... More

Very good music, kind service, real cider and ales from the islands and the atmosphere... Austria is still a free country you can smoke in a pub!

What a lovely atmosphere, with good beers... BUT somebody should forbid that smoking inside, because its's disgusting... We would love to stay there for another drink, but that smoke chase us away.

Be sure to visit this pub in your visit in Vienna. Beautifully decorated and small place, with a nice bar and nice beers. It is difficult to find it, so look for a small alley between the pub's address and the pub's entrance.

Dark, smokey, claustrophobic, great music (at reasonable volume) & some great drinks to be drunk, this is exactly my kind of place. It's easy to miss this place off Naglergasse so if it appeals to you make sure you don't miss it. Naglergasse 7 appears to actually be some kind of clothing store. Look for a place called Black Diamond... More

Everytime i go back to vienna, Bockshorn is the place i need to go at least one time....The pub is so small and packed with different stuff, but exactly that makes it so special. Good Guinnes, nice Whiskies makes this pub an authentic Irish pub....even if the barman seems to be very rude some times....

I've been to sit of places and checked out apt of Irish pubs, including this one last night. It's my new favorite - anywhere. Great small space. Very friendly staff. Interesting mix of clientele. Love it!!

I suppose it's perilous to use British pop culture to describe an Irish pub but stumbling across the Bockshorn is the closest real-life experience I've had to pushing a trolley through Platform 9 & 3/4. If you zig-zag your way through Vienna's romantic alleyways thirsty enough for a pint of Guinness, this folkloric haunt may appear suddenly in your path... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
