A great building

Worth the detour as also surrounded by further amazing architecture and parks. Due to the bike even we could not further experience the Rathaus in its full appearance

Arrived later than expected at the park - but as it happened this was in our opinion the best time to arrive as the lights where spectacular and the atmosphere was buzzing! The lights in the tree and all the Xmas displays truly put us in the festive spirit. If you go a XMas you must try the Knoblauchcreme soupe... More

Delightful place to see. It's always the place that is filled with holiday spirit. During Christmas time you can find a fascinating market full of hot wine and ginger bread scent. After Christmas season it's an open skating-rink with snaking skating paths. That seemed to be most enjoyable by not only children. And of course you will probably recognize the... More

I cannot judge this place on what it is like without something going on as there was a winter wonderland on whilst we were there, but from what I understand, there is usually something happening here. Amazing place to be, particularly on an evening when the atmosphere is fantastic and the buildings look spectacular.

Because of the 150 year anniversary of the Ringstrasse they installed an Observation Tower with a lift that takes you to a hight of 70 meters with a 360 degrees view of the city. Definitely worth the time and the cost of the ticket!

This space is used throughout the year for music events and xmas markets etc. When we visited during a new year period it was buzzing and one of the places to be for New Years Eve.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
