Visited the town hall when it was taken over by Eurovision. The building is stunning and worth a look in a city where there are so many pretty buildings.

It is a brilliant old building and has a very large place in front as well as a little park to have a rest and to admire the flowers or the building. It often has things on such at the Eurovision Contest it had giant screens and one could watch it. There is often a farmers market and round Christmas... More

Lovely structure in the center of Vienna. You can access it very easy either by walking or on the metro. Although i went during the Summer i hear that it's astounding during the Holidays. The Christmas Markets is a must when in Vienna.

I definitely recommend to go there at night - the building is in lights and just breathtaking! In July-August 2015 there's also right now a Film Festival happening so you can have a very nice summer evening (for free). Also bike rental stations are nearby.

Been there to the Christmas market with my girls and we really loved it. We loved everything, my daughter was really impressed! I will definitely come back again!

I was once there during Christmas fair and it was competely different from summer or autumn day at Rathausplatz. The building is very powerfull, but the platz is just infront of it, without any story.

Nothing special. The only reason we went there was to look at the Rathuse. But it was disappointed. Half of the house was hidden under the huge screen for film festival. It was very hot. We found a bench in the shade and had some ice-cream. No bathrooms for free like everywhere in Europe. Don't waste your time, go see... More

If there isn't an event i.e. The Life Ball europe's largest charity event it's a quired park too. In december there is a famous Xmas market and in Jan/Feb it's a large skating ground ( larger than that one in NYC rockefeller center) with boothes arround for food and drinks. I spring time I like most the festival of Styria.

Very beautiful. At summer weekends there are some interesting activities here, such as street-market or open-air cinema

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
