Delightful place to see. It's always the place that is filled with holiday spirit. During Christmas time you can find a fascinating market full of hot wine and ginger bread scent. I cannot judge this place on what it is like without something going on as there was a winter wonderland on whilst we were there, but from what I understand, there is usually something happening here. Amazing place to be, particularly on an evening when the atmosphere is fantastic and the buildings look spectacular.

Because of the 150 year anniversary of the Ringstrasse they installed an Observation Tower with a lift that takes you to a hight of 70 meters with a 360 degrees view of the city. Definitely worth the time and the cost of the ticket!

This space is used throughout the year for music events and xmas markets etc. When we visited during a new year period it was buzzing and one of the places to be for New Years Eve.

This is a fantastic part of Vienna. The Rathausplatz is a beautiful gothic style building that dominates the town hall square. In July and August there is a stage for music and film with a gigantic screen for everyone to see. With bars and food outlets aplenty it is a cool way of chilling out and enjoying the days entertainment.... More

This a great square facing the majestic town hall of Vienna, one of the most impressive town halls in the whole world. The architecture is mostly gothic and really impressive. From the end of November till the first days of March you can do ice skating there! Pay attention because town hall square and the whole Ring area is usually... More

This is probably one of the most beautiful public ice tracks I ever seen... not into that? please your cold with a hot beverage and tasty food. A bit overpriced but certainly worth it. Very festive ambiance for all ages.

Rathaus platz is a winter wonderland in February with skating rink, skating paths and stalls selling all manner of food, gifts and beverages to imbibe. The hot gluhwine and rum punch are not to be missed on a winter's day.

There is nearly no month a year without some attractions going on on this big area between the Burgtheater and the Rathaus. Ice scating , viennese summer festival, x mas market, the world famous life ball - to mention only a few
