I go there every time I'm in Vienna. It's a pretty smart gateway to whatever it's new or trendy in Austrian art, architecture, design etc. And not only Austrian, of course. And not only new, but sometimes just viewed from a new perspective.

We didn't have long here, but would certainly want to go back to this area on our next visit to Vienna. Narrow streets, interesting shops and what looked like nice eating and drinking places. The Christmas market there was quite different with lots of arty stuff, pottery and knitting. Good atmosphere.

I visited the museum quarter to visit the contemporary art museum, and that was a great venue. The building and exhibitions was interesting.

The Museumsquartier contains Baroque buildings as well as Modern architecture and is home to a range of installations from art museums like the Leopold Museum and the MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation Vienna) to contemporary exhibition spaces like the Kunsthalle Wien and festivals like the Wiener Festwochen. Is a must to be seen.

This area next to our hotel has so many beautiful buildings in both contemporary and classic styles. So much to see and do in this area alone. At night the Christmas markets add a little magic to the area.

We went to the Museum Quarter to meet a friend in the Fashion Week program and took the time to have a look at the Leopold Museum with its wonderful collection of famous Austrain painters such as Klimt. Unfortunately the Museum closes quite early so we enjoyed a stroll in this area where people come to relax and play and... More
