Stylish symphony goers congregate on the plaza in front of the building, milling around and chatting, meeting friends and family before entering the doors. And once you're inside (run once you hear the gong--once the doors are shut, they're shut!), marvel at the beauty of the architecture before taking your seat. Once you're seated and the symphony strikes up, be... More

We booked the Mozart Classical Concert tickets in advance through Viennaconcerts.com and collected the tickets with no problem an hour in advance before the concert started at 815pm on 19 Jun. At least two persons seemed to have problems with tickets purchased from their hotel. It was attended by many tourists, quite a number of Chinese, who came by the... More

My husband and I first went to the Musikverein more than 37 years ago when he was sent there on a diplomatic mission, This was before the restoration, and both this beautiful hall and its world-renowned acoustics were remarkable. We attended performances in both the Golden Hall as well as in the beautiful Brahms Saal. The performances were all superb.... More

The sound was sheer magic. Wandering around Vienna Opera House one rainy day in early May, we were approached by a man in a Mozart costume, peddling tickets to Muzikverein. We got talked into buying two, but did not want to use credit cards with a street vendor, so we bought cheap tickets and kept our fingers crossed that they... More

We went for a Rossini concert by the French National Orchestra in the Great Hall. The sound was amazing, as well as the place. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Vienna.

We went to see the Mozart orchestra there and it was a really special night. The hall came alive and it was fantastic to see it in its full splendour. To experience the place you really need to see a concert.

An interesting way of spending an hour or so. A very basic tour of the building including some of the smaller rooms downstairs - glass, stone, metal and the gold hall upstairs. We had to wait about 15 minutes in a very warm hallway before we were allowed to enter as there was a recording in progress. The bonus to... More

A marvellous setting for a night out. Recommend you buy tickets directly from the Musikverein online or in the building, to avoid markups. This time we were in the Brahms hall, listening to Helmerson et al. Smaller than the golden hall suited for symphony orchestras, but just as opulent.

I've been in Wien for some days and I wanted to see a real classical concert, typical in Wien; I asked to a friend that lives there and she suggested me to go to musikverein. Everywhere in the city you will find people inviting you to many concerts, but they all are very expensive and, well, not sure about their... More

I bought standing room tickets to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for only 6 euros the sound was fantastic. If you want a good view you need to be early to get to the front of the line.

Staying in Wieden

Neighborhood Profile
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.
