Pretty sure 80% of the crowed just docked off a cruise ship and wanted a taste of Mozart. I mistakenly thought we were going to see a Mozart concert-- only to learn that all serious Mozart musicians and singers are nowhere to be found in Vienna in July and August. Don't make the same mistake I did. Unless you want... More

The hotel is very close to the center (5 minutes by walk)... people are very nice and warm.... The rooms are very comfortable and well organised.... Just to improve a little bit the menu for the lunch ( j am Italian so j know that it's difficult in other countries to do this ) but the breakfast was very well... More

Saw Tori Amos perform here in June 2014: what a lovely venue. In typically efficient Austrian style, there are plenty of people working in the foyer, making entry easy and quick. A similarly large number of staff work on the many bars so getting a pre-show drink was painless (and quite cheap, particularly compared to a similar venue in London,... More

We went to the Konzerthaus for a show of Ellie Goulding. Besides the incredible show, the building itself is beautiful and the staff was friendly as well. The temperature during the concert and the acoustics were good but I was not satisfied with the service at the cloakroom. They just started to prepare for the coats by the time when... More

In February, there is little to find of the tourist variety understandably. So, when I found a Chinese New Year concert I thought that this would be fun. My expectations of some traditional Chinese music and a dragon dance were totally wrong. This was a concert of a classical style on Chinese instruments and by Chinese composers. And, while the... How can you go to Vienna and not attend a Mozart concert? Although a bit expensive at 69 euros each, we got excellent seats and were treated to excellent performances. The musicians and singers were dressed in period garb. They played/sang for about 2 hours with a short intermission halfway through. They hit all the Mozart favorites, and finished the... More

We went to Soloists of the Vienna Chamber Philharmonic who were performing at the Konzerthaus. The building is okay with a nice statue of Beethoven inside. For our performance there were 3 violinists, 1 viola and 2 opera singers. First, the good: The opera singers were very good and were easily the best feature of the performance. The violinists and... We visited the Konzerthaus for a choir competition. The 19th century building is beautifully renovated, great decoration in the halls. The stuff is helpful. The entrance hall is big, lot of coat deposit counters, everywhere there are elevators, and there is a buffet with sandwiches, "brezel", sodas and beer. The concert halls are great, comfortable chairs, and acoustically optimal. As... More

while we were roaming the royal palace gardens of Wien, a pretty Bulgarian chica sold us tickets to the evening concert at the Konzerthaus of a Vienna Orchestra playing a Mozaart special... kinda skeptical about the authenticity of the tickets initially, but her presentation of credentials etc made us purchase it - and boy did we strike jackpot! walking distance...
