My husband and I were only in Vienna for 1 day and we like doing walking tours as they give you a good overview of a city and you find out things that you wouldn't otherwise know - and you look at things that you might otherwise walk past. This was certainly the case with Herbert's tour of Vienna. We... More

A 2 hour walking tour with Herbert was included in the 'Vienna Pass' I had bought for my trip, and it was a great experience. He's funny, witty, knowledgeable and was happy to answer questions and direct us for specific queries. Definitely worth the walk!

Straight off the flight to catch the 12 oclock introductory tour with Herbert - smallish group - excellent guide - full of interesting facts and figures and a good dry sense of humour! Wish it had been longer as there is soo much to see

We took two tours with Herbert where he took us to see the Hofburg Imperial Palace grounds, popular city sights, and intimate spots that he wanted to share. He spoke perfect English, was thoroughly knowledgeable and presented the material in an interesting and informative manner. We highly recommend that you request him as your guide and were only sorry that... More

I took the noon time "Introducing Vienna Part I" tour in English. I only arrived in Vienna the day before, so this tour was perfect as an orientation for me. Herbert was very engaging, and funny at times. He provided enough information to keep you interested, and not too much to make the tour too heavy. Highly recommended. Note: As... More

From tripadvisor reviews I expected something special. First off, I rushed to get there for the 9:30 a.m. English speaking tour and when I got there I was told in what is probably typical brusk Austrian style that the tour was at noon and no, I had read the website wrong (I double checked - I had read it correctly).... Mr. Stojaspal was so amazing. He knew his information well, he made the tour so interactive especially with his tablet! It made the tour so much more interesting to show the before/after the destruction. He also focused on pre war and post war and even roman times! He was so funny and gregarious. Coming from NY city this guide was... More

There is so much to see and do in Vienna that the short few days we had there was inadequate to do it justice. Herbert provided an interesting and informative introductory tour which which provided an excellent basis for our time there. This is one of the best tours I have experienced. Highly recommended.

Excellent: we joined Herbert Stojaspal, a certified Austrian Tour guide today for a midday tour of the grand and opulent centre of Vienna. Herbert set the stage of 1000 years of Vienna history, and the beginning and glory days of the Hapsburg Empire. He focused on architecture, art and history in a well informed and professional manner. He answered historical... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
