I am a big museum buff so I was looking forward to this museum. Toted as being as good as the Met in NYC. It is not. This is a beautiful art museum, even though, as the reviewer said before me, the art is not as great as at the Met in NYC. There are numerous pieces of art, yet there are not many well known pieces. This is one of the best museums in Europe. The Breughels, Dürers, and Reubens are worth the visit themselves. The interior of the museum is a work of art in itself. Another branch of the museum is called the Schatzkammer, and is located in the Hofburg palace, across the street from the Kunsthistorisches. This is a must see! The crowns... more
