Gold statue

Cute little gold-coloured statue of Strauss standing under an arch in the Stadtpark. Another amazing composer commemorated by a statue; there are others. Find them.

There are benches around this memorial. You can sit there and chill. No dogs allowed. One of your favorite places to enjoy the sun anytime of the year. And don't miss to take a selfie with the flower clock! ;)

Made a point of visiting Stadtpark to see all the statues to the various composers and Johann Strauss in particular. Singled out for special attention as his is the only statue gold coloured

Strauss' monument is located in a very nice Stadtpark, and if you wouldn't go "just" for a statue, you have to take a walk there, so you won't miss the monument either. I would expect a less modern touch, but the monument is still nice.

Went past this monument by accident so didn't take much notice until the gold colour from the monument stopped me to investigate. Strauss is an important person to Vienna the monument is a good place to remember such as important person.

If you visit Stadtpark, then go and see the monument. If you go for the monument, then it's worth spending some time in the park :)

Nicely done statue of Strauss, it is not easily located as the park is quite big, and there were many other statues or head bust.

This monument looks like it's made of gold. A bit pathetic statue, but, honestly, Strauss deserved it! Lots of people taking pictures. Be prepared to wait for your turn!

A stunning statue in the park near very good dining/drinking venues. The tourists however, were climbing up the statue for photographs and really lowered the tone and appeared quite irresponsible.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
