Not far from the famous landmark in Vienna known as the Hundertwasserhaus, you can find the very good Kunsthaus Wien (Museum Hundertwasser), where you can learn more about Friedensreich Hundertwasser, his concepts and take on modern art. This is a genuinely unique museum in Vienna that allows you to step into the mind and world of the famous 20th century... More

Hundertwasser designed an exceptional space to create and play in. The museum's curators know how to design an exhibit environment and give the works their due.

Hundertwasserhaus was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser (born Friedrich Stowasser), the man of 'a hundred waters'. He loved nature, plants and colour. As a big Gaudi fan, I thought there would be some similarity but in my opinion, there wasn't. Both loved nature and used colour extensively but beyond that, they had different philosophies and creative methods. We took the tram... More

All tickets are discounted on Mondays! I went here because other reviewers had said if you liked Gaudi in Barcelona, then you should see it. I wasn't a huge fan of Hundertwasser's early art, but I liked his older art a lot more. There's a cafe attached and I highly recommend the Kaiserschmarrn. It's a yummy pastry with a sweet... More

Hundertwasser's work is special enough to warrant a visit to this museum, but it is not the best museum set-up, unfortunately. Walking into the building is interesting. Fortunately, I was warned to watch my step so I did. Be careful not to be so distracted by the architecture that you trip on the uneven floors. The permanent exhibition (which was... More

The main exhibition was the works by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and this was also the one that captivated me the most. There is alot of talent displayed in his work. Much of his personality could be seen through his work and the museum's display. I admire his work and his personality.

KUnsthaus was build by Hundertwasser, a famous Austrian Architect with "gaudi-style". worhit to see. Inside you have always interesting exhibitions. And at the end you should have a coffee in the nice restaurant in the small attached house, fully decorated with folwers. Enjoy!

If you don't know the work of Hundertwasser, architect, painter, protoype eco-enthusiast, then you should, and Kunsthaus Wien is the place to start.

Was slightly apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews on here, but in the end was very pleased that I made the effort! The building is unique and like nothing that I had seen before. Practicalities - it's a bit of a hike from the nearest Ubahn station (about half a mile). I recommend downloading the excellent TA Vienna... More
