My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Kunsthaus. Yes, it's a bit out of town (and the guy at the ticket booth was a bit rude) but the exhibitions are completely inspirational and after your visit, you can wander around the area seeing other architectural works by Hundertwasser.

This was a bit of a walk, the neighbourhood became seedier as we got nearer. What a strange building, people live here as well as the gallery. A little reminiscent of Gaudi, but different.

If you are just a bit interested in art or architecture then you should go to KunstHaus Wien where the Hundertwasser exhibition is. The whole building is created by Hundertwasser and nothing has corners or straight lines – not even the floor is plane ;) It is a great experience and I didn’t know much about him before my visit... It is a creating design from a painter architect called Hundertwasser. It is a little off the regular places to visit, and was had a little difficulty to find the building. A large presence is given to nature, a rejection of straight lines and industrial stereotypes. If it was build today, I would not find this building very interesting. However,... More

Variously described as the Gaudi Apartments of Vienna the building looks great from the outside but this all you can see. The rather enterprising cafe offers a screening of film about it but these are private apartments. Worth a look but you won't spend much time there. The No. 1 Tram takes you virtually outside the door (and back again)

I love this gallery and go there a few times per year. It is situated in a Hundertwasser building, treat in itself, with 2 floors about his life and works, and upstairs they have changing exhibitions, always interesting. I love it!!

This is a very interesting place on a number of levels; the artworks by Hundertwasser are beguiling and some of his concepts are quite stimulating, even though their practicality can easily be challenged (but then again, he was an artist so what else can you expect?). As a builder myself the Kunsthaus gave me some ideas but also reinforced some... More

The house, the objects, the garden, all of them are playful and with unusual shapes and colours. It is like you walked in the world of "Allice in the wonderland". Visit the small museum or at least spend some time in the garden terrace to drink a coffee. The tables, the chairs, the decorated walls and even the bathroom and... More

Worth the walk from the ring. Hundertwasser's museum was for me a pilgrimage. Between the environment, the art, and the cafe you will get a good feeling for the special scope of art he produced. Cafe was good. Shop is interesting, but I found everything very expensive (but well-crafted).
