DO SEE IT BUT BE SURE TO NOT SEE IT AT Redoutensaal, see it at the Festaal Room

After others from our tour group had been and RAVED about the concert, we booked tickets for the next night. We were unaware they did it at more than one venue. GREAT... read more

The orchestra and vocalists were at least good, but the venue was very poor. It appeared to have been a large ballroom with high ceiling, hard wall surfaces, filled with audience on folding chairs. The room was not acoustically designed for performances, so from at least the middle of the hall to the back, the music was deadened and faint.... More

After others from our tour group had been and RAVED about the concert, we booked tickets for the next night. We were unaware they did it at more than one venue. GREAT music of Mozart, Strauss, etc including opera singers-LOVED the music!!! HIDEOUS environment - in the Redouten wing of the royal palace that had burned in a fire in... More

This is a great evening. The palace concert setting is beautiful. The orchestra is great and the singers are excellent. This is a better concert than you get at Schonbrunn.

Experienced a Strauss Concert at this venue. Impressive classical musical entertainment by orchestra, conductor and singers. Very professionally executed. A few laughs thrown in and extremely enjoyable. The cost was reasonable and the experience was a very enjoyable night out. If you get a chance to experience this performance do it. You won't regret it. Well worth the visit!

Seating begins about a 1/2 hour before the 8:30 performance. There are about 40 professional musicians in the Weiner Hofburg Orchestra and four opera singers (2 male/2 female) in the performances. Of the approximately 16 pieces played 12 were Johann Strauss compositions and four by W.A. Mozart. Due to the overwhelming applause the orchestra played an additional three compositions. Among... We were on a Viking river cruise and had the opportunity to go to a concert the evening we were in Vienna. The orchestra was wonderful. There were also several vocalists that performed with the orchestra. There was even some comedy mixed in. The drummer during one piece played a whistle that made a Cookoo sound and the director acted... More

Firstly the enthusiastic young men dressed as Strauss and Mozart selling the tickets to the concert are nowhere to be seen when you arrive at Herengasse station. Travelling alone means you need chaperones around the massive Hofburg Palace. After much flagging down people and asking directions eventually I arrived at my destination. It was most definitely worth the 55 euros.... More
