Must see when you are going to Vienna

Nice place to walk and see great architecture. You can see there Opera building and and world most expansive brand store - so perfect place to go to shop.

We had about an hour of free time on a guided tour here in the historic center. Not enough time for a full Viennese coffeehouse experience, but enough for us to be constantly harassed by musicians in front of the cathedral. They were hawking concerts "tonight" and selling tickets on the spot, but we got very tired of saying no!... More

There is nothing to dislike in Vienna. Take a walk, enjoy...I like the silence and the peace of the city. Church bells at 19h and Saher cake at the Saher hotel.

All the major sights are within walking distance of each other. Clean, friendly and safe. The churches are amazing and most are open to visit for free.

Loved everything about Vienna. Great for walking. Easy to use public transport. Such a pretty city. If you love art, architecture, music, history and the best coffee and cake in the world, this is the place.

The city centre of Vienna is absolutely beautiful, full of old buildings and palaces built during the height of the Austrian-Hungarian empire. Everything is pretty much in walking distance, but beware it is very touristy.

We liked the great architecture & lots of good shopping. We disliked that it's quite expensive and has poor tourist signage

We loved wandering through the historic center! The architecture is amazing and I loved the blend of classic architecture with modern amenities. While it's absolutely worth buying tickets to museums and events, this is also a city where it's so easy to wander and walk and enjoy all day!

I am not exaggerating but of course this citation is my own opinion. The historic Inner stadt of Vienna is mainly pedestrian and all along you see beautiful buildings and sophisticated shops....go to the back streets and you see more, because there are so many individual small shops that sells sophisticated items, many exclusive, unlike goods in a chain store.... Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
