Not only does the Pfaenderbahn have an amazing view at the top, but there is a free animal preserve you can walk around. You can see the mountains and towns along Lake Constance belonging to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria from the top. The animal preserve had many beautiful native animals to view in their natural habitat.

We took a train over from Switzerland and the cable car is just a short walk from the station. We arrived early and waited just a few minutes for tickets but the line was very long as we were leaving. Tip: Get there early! The ride was amazingly short considering how high up you go. And the views from the... More

If you want to see Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Lichtenstein, then a trip to the Pfänder, high over Bregenz, Austria is the place for you. The outside terrace serves deleted cousin food, again with a breathtaking view

We went on an overcast day with low cloud, so missed any distant views of the alps. The booking process is efficient and the prices reasonable. The views as you travel up the mountain are inspiring, but once at the top we couldn't see much. The wildlife park at the top wasn't great. I think it you had longer and... More

At the top, there are great views, eating and drinking options and clearly defined paths (colour coded for difficulty and with distances marked) if you want to explore a bit. If you are a little scared of travelling on a cable car (like me), stand in the middle and look out the sides at the scenery. Far less scary than... More

We took a chance that we would still be able to see something despite a showery day, and we were rewarded with a break in the clouds and a dazzling vista over the length of the Bodensee. Once at the upper Pfanderbahn station, there are views spanning at least 270 degrees, taking in parts of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, with... More

We took the cable car on a beautifully sunny day and were rewarded with outstandingly clear vistas for miles around. On arrival at the top station there is a restaurant, shops and alpine zoo (you can view some of the animals without charge). Radiating out from the cable car station are various mountain paths. If you take the path leading... More
