Having read other reviews on Crystal World i wasnt sure what to expect so i went with an open mind & was very surprised.I thought it was brilliant.....literally! No its not a place to see how swarovski is made & some of the art work was not to my taste but the rooms were amazing, all very cleverly done. The museum was,... more
Our visit to Swarovski Crystal Worlds (Swarovski Kristallwelten) was a complete waste. We saw nothing interesting except for the 300,000 karat cut crystal. Everything else wasn't even worth the trouble. We expected to see the history of Swarovski and how the the crystals are cut, etc. The brochure said we would see the work of the world's top designers. Instead... more
I thought I would be able to see how they made their fabulous crystal figurines. Boy was I mistaken. Instead I think someone took a lot of drugs and put totally unrelated things together and called it a tourist attraction. Even the gift shop is less then spectacular. You could find a shop in downtown Innsbruck that offered more then... more
what a nice experience. after the renovation work in dec 08. this fascinating museum of crystal is worth to see. the staff is quiet friendly and helpful. we enjoyed every moment there and of course my wife found some nice jewellery in the largest swarovski shop around the world. we will come again. more
All you people being negative, just go with an open mind. What is liked by one may be disliked by another, its human nature. How can we all have the same taste? I went to the Swarovski Crystal world in 2005; I would have reviewed it then but hadn't learned about this site then. I took a tour out of Munich that went to the Swarovski Crystal World and then on to Innsbruck. It was a great trip. The guide was very informative and we had ample time to go through the... more
I hope I am granted 35 minutes off my passage in purgatory to replace the time wasted in this “museum”. I have seen these very sparkly and actually rather attractive pieces of crystal on sale all over Europe, so I was easily persuaded to drive to Wattens outside Innsbruck. Having forked out €9 plus each, we went through 14 rooms... more
This is basically an art museum, not really a museum offering historical info, etc. I did not know this, so I was a little disappointed going through. However, the various art displays are intriguing, to say the least. There are several different rooms, each done by a different artist with the intention of showing of the Swarovski crystals in an... more
After reading about this place on trip advisor and in guide books we ventured there with a sense of trepidation and only because it was raining! BUT... We were pleasantly surprised. Let get things clear from the start. This is NOT a Museum, it is NOT an Art Gallery and it has very little, if anything, to do with Swarovski... more
