We came during the day , it was hot and muggy and raining, we Sat under the chestnut trees to avoid the rain, after a bit it eased up, we sat and chatted with some local Germans , but towards the end of the evening it started pouring again everyone filtered inside which became muggy , currently we're inside staying... Our first beer garden experience, and it was very fun. Even though we don't speak any German, it was very easy to navigate ourselves to beer and food. There are lots of food options inside (go up the stairs) at reasonable prices. The sitting area outside is packed, but don't be shy: find a free chair or two, introduce yourself,... More

€6 for a masse / stein of helles beer. Can't go wrong! It was an adventure to find the beer garden, completely unexpected and we had a great evening.

Self service setting and a huge biergarten! I didn't know the routine, but a friendly Austrian local helped me find my way. Two sizes for the beer, large or small. The small being 1/2 litre. LOL... Probably the best Marzen(lager) I've ever had. Went back for it a second evening... Just wish I could get that kind of brew at... More

This place is a must see in Salzburg. The atmosphere in the beer garden is incredible, I would say its 90% locals, most of whom in traditional Austrian/Bavarian clothing. The beer was amazing, it went down like water, and was lovely and cool. I had the litres cup, which was just an experience to drink from, and at 6 EUR... More

This was our first official Bier Garden and what a way to start! Huge, open air self serve if you like. Pay for your mug, wash the mug, get it filled and slid back to you and drink. Then repeat, and repeat and repeat. Food available was good and priced well-had ribs and brats for less than €10 for the... More

This place has an awesome beer garden, a beer hall, and a cool little food court inside. Lots of typical Austrian fare. I got some cheese filled brats and a hot pretzel and both were outstanding. Great fresh beer too, served in the classic liter clay mugs!

We stumbled across Augustiner walking around Salzburg. Great outdoor beer garden but very hard to find if you don't know exactly where it is because it is behind large closed doors. The waiter was fantastic and the beer was cold. The meals look ok but typical Austrian large meals.

This venerable beer garden doesn't disappoint! The outdoor seating area under a thick canopy of trees is a fantastic place to spend an evening with friends or family. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and the beer is great. The beer will taste even better after a hike along the Monchsberg Path leading from the Hohensalzburg Fortress to the... More
