Even if you are not a Sound of Music fan, this is a charming town for a long weekend trip. Be prepared to walk a lot and take your time to wander around to explore new things. It is a small town and I feel relatively safe even walking at night. The Christmas markets have just started when we are... More

If your in a car it can quite difficult to get around the one way system. We parked in a amazing underground carpark and then walked around the city which is easily done on foot as its not too spaced out. I was great having photos at all the S O M sights.

We loved the old town. There were many little restaurants. Many small vendors located everywhere with everything you could imagine. Small gift shops everywhere. It was a great area.

The little winding streets, the multitude of shops, the friendly shopkeepers and restauranteurs, the twinkling lights at Christmas time, the cobbled streets...it is just lovely and well worth a wander.

Every step is just beautiful. Every square foot of this place has been thought and made. Make sure you carry your camera when you arrive in Salzburg. This is also not a heavy tourists spot yet.

What spoiled it for us was all the upscale big name stores. When you think of old town, you expect some history. There were a few markets but the commercialism turned us off.

One of the best cities in Europe with literally everything organized and in harmony with nature. The best part being that most of the places can be covered by Walk and do not require any kind of transportation. The only indifference you will notice is that Beggars are everywhere at every intersection, every signal and outside every crowd pulling place.... More

This city is a diamont, I have no words to describe the harmony and the beauty of the city. Everything organized, cleaned, tidy and the shops, the buildings are excellent.
