My friend and I were lucky enough to be in Salzburg during St. Rupert's festival (not planned, just a happy coincidence!) The festival was a really great way to get involved in the community. There was tons of food to try, booths to buy crafts at, performances, and great people watching. I'm not sure if we would have had as...

Very pretty and lovely to just walk around taking in the city.

Beautiful architecture, great shops and restaurants, museums - all in all, a great place to spend lots of time. There are your usual touristy shops, but amongst them are some real gems of places to shop. The vibe is great! Shuts down in the evenings (in January) and not much open Sundays as well. Easy to walk around.

Made me want to stay and live there when I first saw the place! You can explore it by foot if you're a walker. Or you can take the horse-drawn carriages if you fancy.Breathtaking views. I'm an avid Sound of Music fan and I went to almost all the important places associated with the movie and the real Von Trapp...

The beautiful old town of Salzburg is unmissable - and great for a morning or afternoon's exploring on foot. Don't go with a list of things to do - it'll spoil the fun. Just let the day take you where it will!

I'm mesmerized by the charms of Salzburg's Old Town. Cobblestone streets, stunning architecture, horse and buggy rides,
glorious fountains, the sound of church bells, walking trails, views
of the foot hills of the Alps, and memories of the magnificent composer Mozart make Salzburg one of Europe's best cities to visit.
If I could live anywhere in Europe, I'd choose Salzburg....

Its a safe and interesting place to visit. Lots of museums but a visit to the Fort on the hill is a must. Magnificent views and interesting history. From the ramparts the building with the red dome is the Abbey featured in the Sound of Music. Food can be expensive and lots of places close on Sunday.

While the city seems underwhelming at first, the beautiful scenery keeps you interested until you realize all there is to enjoy in the city center.
