We caught the train from Munich , took 2 hours , the Old Town is so charming and you can feel the history, lots of outdoor activities in the gardens and streets. The architecture is wonderful. Very friendly people and always willing to help. Went on the tour bus, a good way to see the city and take in the... More

We spent a whole day wandering around the old town of Salzburg. Some of the buildings are beautiful. Several of the streets have shops that have very ornate wrought iron signs outside them. We went into the Dom and a couple of other churches and walked through the cemetery. It was very busy as the Salzburg Festival was on, but... More

The architecture, domes and towers, narrow alleys and Mozart collections, the river, churches, markets and human statues - so much of interests crammed into an easy walking space - something new round every corner. A magical place

I guess everyone will head this way anyway but it is really worth coming to Salzburg just to see this area. The quaint streets lined with a mix of modern and traditional shops, the massive fortress looming large over the area and the wonderful architecture make it an incredibly beautiful area. I can only imagine how stunning it looks in... More

Very easy to travel to from Munich and well worth it. The old town is a bit hilly but if you can manage then it won't disappoint.

It looks like a fairytale scene. Salzburg's Old Town is breathtaking, with endless attractions to see. Not only suqares, cathedrals and other beautiful old buildings, but a lot of shops and restaurants as well makes this part of the city the most crowded yet attractive part. During winter it gets even better because of the huge Christmas market, which is... More

If you like old buildings, great squares and narrow streets with a lot of shops and restaurants, you should visit this place. You can find here also a birthplace of Mozart.

This city reminded me of a fairy tale! There were horse drawn carriages riding throughout the city, a large river win quick flowing watered, and an enormous fortress Jon the top of the mountain that you could explore. There was so much to do here, and it seemed like not enough time! If you are here, I would definitely recommend... More
