Plenty of boutique shops to spend your money, but also intriguing side alleys opening out into squares, leading to places of interest. Most of the major sights are in the Old Town.

Salzburg was a charming place. Parking was not cheap, but convenient. No need for a car in the town as you can walk everywhere. Yes - it's touristy and full of tour guide groups which we avoided, preferring to walk round on our own, and yes - there are beggars everywhere as in every large town. But the town is... More

Salzburg is a great and beautiful city worth visiting! I am a big fan of "The Sound of Music", if you are fan too, you should join the local one day tour to visit all scenic spots of this movie!

Just walk around the old town, popping in to churches, taking in all the sights and sounds. Some very talented painters around the area, with souvenir drawings which are reasonably priced. Also watch out for the lovely market style stalls selling hot food and lovely sweets. Many stalls will sell chocolates from the Mozart chocolate factory, the chocolate liquor is... More

Old Town is the very reason to come to Salzburg. I really enjoyed the cobblestone narrow streets that are just designed for pedestrians. You can walk aimlessly throughout the area and enjoy window shopping or popping into the shops. It is definitely geared towards tourists, and after all, that's what we are. You can find worldwide stores like H&M, Zara,... More

the old town is very well looked after, clean and tidy. despite being the old part of the city, you`ll find many of the modern brand shops on the main streets here and its worth venturing down the alley ways between builds to see what you can find. It's nice enough, but somewhat homegenous and lacking anything really striking

I fell in love with the city . It is so awsome the people are so nice. The shops are great You find every thing you want. I found my austrian dress there, plus other things I wanted to buy. We ate in this small little restaurant I can't remember the name. I will go back next year. My trip... More

A mixture of old and new. Very crowded as its a narrow street. Lots of souvenir shops selling the same things with varied prices. The high street shops that we know and love were hard to detect because they had to have the same front face as the old design of all the other Austrian shops.

Of course a lot of Mozart related buildings and areas. Cosy small streets, nice bars and restaurants. Small shops and a lot of tourists. The surroundings of the city are beautiful and brings a magic feeling. An adorable little city.
