We travelled from Vienna to Salzburg (on the very good train service) and were by this point in our itinerary starting to weary of yet another baroque church. It might be that being from the north of Europe we are simply more acclimatised to the Gothic style, but I was coming to the conclusion that one can have too much... More

The church was OK at least. If you only visit Salzburg on your Europe excursion then it might fascinate, but seeing so many churches already I do not think the church stands out. Some tour books say the church is special for "all the tall columns in it" but turns out there was only 4 - a real blunder. The... More

unlike the other churches that I visited while in Salzburg, this one felt more like an active place of worship instead of a tourist attraction. the ceiling is very cool. walking through takes maybe 5 min, but its a worthwhile 5 min

One of the very old churches in Salzburg Old Town. Less visited from the tourists, so you have more room to look around. It is connected to the cloister, where you cannot get in.

This is my favorite church in Salzburg- not so overloaded like the cathedral and often not so full of tourists. Here meet two different styles, gothic and romantic. In particular, the glass windows are worth seeing. There are also daily new concerts. Central location in the old town (behind the Law Faculty).

The massive stone columns, inside the church are quite impressive, & I actually liked the interior of this more than St.Peter's. If you go to Dom Quartier you can see the upper level through a glass door, not a great view but it gives you an idea of the massive size of the church. It is definitely worth taking a... More

The first part of the church was rather common with very little decoration but when approaching the altar we found how amazing this church is. The central part with the statues is very good but not far from there a series of sanctuaries surround this central altar. Very beautiful in general and a must to see in Salzburg

This is a beautiful church. I liked it the best of all in Salzburg!! The church was not over cluttered with art works and just so peaceful!

Perfect view onto the city. Make sure to go up there at least once. Note that there is no elevator and you have to take the stairs.
