we ran the marathon on May 6 & the route took us right through the Castle. It was so lovely and beautiful we wish all our friends could experience it.

Really great, even though we got wet several times not with rain. Prepare yourself for alot of tricks! The tour guide was excellent.

Easily accessible by bus, plenty to see. Reminded us of Schunbrunn in Vienna.

The tour of the rooms was brief and the audio-guide was informative but would not have made the trip if it wasnt for the trick fountains. The Sound of Music gazebo is not next to the palace and as it was raining we did not make the trek to see it.

More that the usual castle with stuffy old rooms and gardens. The trick fountains and gardens are a delight

Went there on the way back from Untersberg visit. You have to follow a guide. I don't find it informative with guide as the crowd is too big and completely waste of time. Should separate tour guide to Germans speaking and English Speaking.

the venicular made this a easy enjoyable activity. We traveled with kids and the favorite room was the torture museum. The food was too expensive, we came back down and walked a half block up hill to the right and found a great beer garden with a great view.

We ventured up the castle during our stay in Salzburg. It was worth the cost just for the views of the city, even on a rainy day. There is also a museum and places to eat as well. A very nice place to visit, and worth the price of admission.

You can get here by city bus or the "on/off" bus which circles by here. Hellbrunn has an admission fee to the castle and the "wasserspiele" (trick fountains), but you can enjoy the gardens and surrounding area for free. Tucked away in a corner is the glass pavilion that was the site of the "I am Sixteen" sequence in The... More
