I visited it on a cold day by bus. Funny tour as the fountains suddenly spray into you. I especially like the puppets. Water is everywhere. Lovely place for photographing. After visiting the main castle, we go up to the mounter top to visit a museum and the zoo. I don't like the zoo as it is smelly. If you... More

We caught the bus here but when we arrived we thought it was quiet and the palace does not open until April. So disappointed! However the grounds were nice so we got an idea of the place - and the bus wasn't long arriving to take us on to the mountains we were visiting next!

My husband is a sucker for castles - me I can take them or leave them HOWEVER, this one was worth the time. We spend a good few hours here and I wasn't bored - that is saying something. Pop into the puppet museum on the way in it is very good. Note limited toilet facilities and eating/drinking.

It is a must to see Schloss Hellbrun when visiting Salzburg or even Europe. Compared to other castles, this is small but very elegant

Fanciful gardens with a few practical jokes involving water (at least in the summer). Felt transported to another era, where the dwellers had character and a sense of humor. Beautiful spring and summer flower gardens.

I stopped by Hellbrunn castle on the way back from Untersberg on bus line 25. It was on Sunday evening but there were a lot of cars parking along the road leading to the castle. The castle was closed but the Christmas market was full of people. Very nice decoration, nice atmosphere and a big advent calendar on the facade... More

We visited the castle in Dec 2013 after a trip to the Untersberg. Very easy to get to on no 25 bus from city and a worthwhile visit. Gardens are beautiful, was not crowded as it was winter and the Xmas advent market was beautiful. Lots to eat, drink and see, very traditional flavor and we enjoyed the time spent... More

I bought the Salzburg card for my trip to Salzburg in late Nov. Unfortunately, the Schloss Hellburn closed in early Nov. The time i visited, i could visit the outside area where they just started the Christmas market which is very nice. There's a little are exhibiting farm animals. The kids love them.
