I should start by saying that classical music and opera are not really my normal cup of tea! I went with lowish expectations but was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the whole evening. The venue was stunning inside. The food was pretty decent indeed, even if the main course was not massive in size, all 3 courses tasted... More

I was expecting a touristy, run of the mill meal, with average musicians dressed in wigs and costumes. Boy was I wrong. First of all, the banquet hall is in what is said to be one of the oldest restaurants in Europe--the room is gorgeous, rather reminiscent of Colonial Williamsburg in the US. Beautiful tables, chandeliers, table settings. The food... More

We heard four Mozart pieces played by a viola, two violins, a cello and a fabulous pianist. Marble Hall, of course, is beautiful and intimate; about 50-70 people. Dinner at the hotel other than the Sheraton was less expensive and excellent (four courses + a salad). It is not a long walk from there to the Mirabell.

The Mozart Dinner Concert provided an evening of beautiful classical music, all Mozart, with a delicious Austrian meal. The musicians were outstanding, both the small orchestra and the two opera singers. They paced the evening well, giving time to eat the first course, then music, second course, music, dessert, music. We met some lovely people at our table as an... More

We visited on the Sunday given that many places are closed on Sundays so it made sense to take advantage. Having previously been to the Mozart Dinner on our last visited which we thoroughly enjoyed we went with high expectations, On arrival it was evident that only 50% of the room was being occupied by diners and sadly the meal... This is certainly a tourist attraction but certainly one to recommend. The setting is just beautiful, a large candlelit room with lovely table settings. We booked the slightly more expensive tickets which meant we had a table for two at the front and a slightly different menu. The other tickets are sharing on tables of 12. The welcome was friendly... Really enjoyed the dinner and concert in this beautiful hall. They have singers singing opera. Don't miss it if you are in Salzburg.

Attending this music dinner can bring you back to the time of Renaissance period. The dinner was prepared by the oldest kitchen in Europe and the atmosphere was outstanding. You can admire the building itself, and the costume of the musicians. Of course, don't compare the music with the performand in Vienna Concert Hall. Worth to try!
