Just a little update on price: now you have to pay the entry fee per car, not per person. The muber of person is maximalized, but 15 EUR is the price for one car. That is great. I still love this mountain. We always make a walking tour from the top parking place to the top of the mountain, which... More

This is a wonderful small botanical garden. We spent about 3 hours there and could have spent more (but it was a long travel day, so our time was limited). Great variety of plants, very well kept. In early July, the lady slipper orchids were just going over, but the lilies were at the peak of bloom. Many of the... More

Nice mountain toll road, can be even done by bicycle. A lot of parking places along the way, most recommended is the "Rote Wand" viewpoint which features a skywalk over a red cliff. Be sure to take the hike from the Rosstratten to the Dobratsch summit and visit the Gipfelhaus. It will take 1 1/2 hours to hike, and the... More

If you visit Villach, do not forget to go on this road. It is a toll road only from 16 April to 15 October, the rest of the year is free. As you go up the road, is a very good idea to stop in every parking and to see the surroundings. From some parking lots you have to go... More

The Villacher Alpenstrasse is a must if you are visiting Villach area. Ideally you are going there on a day without clouds of course. Due to the many different parking opportunities throughout the 16.5km uphill road you will get the opportunity to look to the Julian Alps as well as Villach, the Karawanken Alps and of course also towards the... Stop at P2 where local couples use to hang out. You have an excellent view over Villach. Also the "Julian View" is an interesting spot to look at surrounding mountains.

Verry nice routes. A lot of bikers riding around. It was like a special area designed only for motorbikes.

The Alpenstrasse is always a good target. Between 15.11-15.04. the entry is free. In March the restaurants were open, and since there was still snow, poeple used sled and ski to slide down. As it is part of the Naturpark Dobratsch- http://www.naturparkdobratsch.info-, we can find always something new. I'm sure we will come here regularly. I have found safety boxes... More
