Great, first of all the employees are kind. For 2 euros, and 3 if you are not student you really have something to see. 665 coat of arms from nobles and etc plus the parliament of Karnten where you can take pictures. For someone who loves history of flags and amblems I think thi is must see.

This time my visit included an inspection of the Wappensaal (for a small fee, free of charge with the Kärnten Card). As you can see on the pictures, this large room, with the arms of the prominent Carinthia families painted on the walls, the impressive overhead painting and the general atmosphere is worth a visit as part of the Landhaus... Inside the Landhaus is the splendid Wappensaal, the walls entirely painted with 665 emblems of the ancient and noble families of Carinthia. On the ceiling is a large perspective Baroque fresco with the Glory of Charles VI. All the frescoes were executed between 1740 and 1760 by the local painter Josef Ferdinand Fromiller. In the room is kept the famous... More

The Landhouse is in the city-center - the whole place of very nice and has a relaxing atmosphere. The building is newly reconditioned, there are several events in the small piazzeta in front. If you spend a day in Klagenfurt you should not miss the old center!

The Landhaus is right in the heart of Klagenfurt, surrounded by the the most important and prominent attractions in Carinthias Capital city. The Wappensaal on the first floor (in Europe that is the 1st floor above the ground floor) is amazing. Who knows, you may even discover a very distant relative or your lineage. Take a good look at the... More

The 16th century Landhaus has always played a prominent role in governing Carinthia. Today it is the seat of the assembly of the State of Carinthia, but also on this spot a plaque tells us that in May 1945 prominent people of Carinthia restored democracy here after the Nazis were expelled. Furthermore, in the Arms rooms (Grosse Wappensaal and Kleine... More

We were there during the Lange Nacht der Museen and it was one of the nicest places in this little town. The Wappensaal is really impressive. There's also a good restaurant that serves reasonably priced authentic food so a good mixture. It's located in the middle, close to Lindwurm monument, Old and New Square and the main public transport centre... More

On the way from Graz to Sankt Johann im Pongau we stopped in late afternoon in Klagenfurt. After wandering the city center for a while we found the Gasthasu im Landshaushof betweene the the lunch and dinner rushes. Virtually empty we sat down and had the goulash which was out of this world. Followed by espresso, we were then ready... More

The Landhaus was partly closed but still worth a look at a very low price. 2 euros. The ceilings are very Italian in style and the Trompe-l'œil on the ceiling is fun to track across the room
