Sadly you can't currently go up the Uhrturm itself but it is well worth the short but steep walk up from the old town for the spectacular views across the city it affords. It is Graz's enduring symbol and so it is a must for any visitor. It's also 100% free.

I visited Graz at May and the weather was just fine. It is definately a must go, because of the view and the natural beauty that you can find up there. You can go either by a teleferic, which I recommend, or by stairs, or by an elevator, where you can stop and see the cave that they have formed... More

We were there in December. Admittedly it was a bit brisk (for us Californians, it was downright cold) but it was worth every minute of it. The top was set up for Christmas shopping. Lot's of little booths with a variety of gift ideas. Also lots of booths with a great variety of foods to eat. The food was awesome.... More

You can climb to the top or take the lift, for cheap. The view from the top is worth the hike and there are places to explore at the top. There is a cute little restaurant at the top, with indoor and outside seating.

The Uhrturm is on the top of hill, very close to the castle, the building itself is beautiful, and I went on the spring when all the gardens where very green, and with lots of flowers! There was a guy playing some typical Austrian music that created a soundtrack for the view!!! You cannot enter in the tower.

You cannot miss that place, if you decided to visit Graz. It's right in the heart of the city. There you can watch the whole city from above. It is highly recommended that you take the stairs to increase your enjoyment of the place. However you can take the elevator down the way. The funicular was not working when I... More

Standing tall at the south edge of the Schlossberg is the "Uhrturm" , the city's emblem. It can be reached by a number of strenuous paths and also by lift or Schlossbergbahn funicular for the cost of just a regular city transport ticket.

Are you in Graz or do you plan to visit Graz? Make this your first stop! You just have to take a picture with the Uhrturm! This is a symbol that is unique to Graz. I've been here twice already. I would be here often if it wasn't so damn tiring to go up the pretty stone steps. There's a... More

It was my favourite place in Graz, especially great for taking photos. There are information points along the way and several monuments to see - one being the clock tower. The steps are safe and If you are reasonably fit then it is worth walking up and walking back down. Obviously it would be better to do in sunny weather.
