You got to see the history and process of salt mining in the guided tour. At the end of the tour, you can ride on a mini mine train which is quite fun.

A surprising amount of fun. We weren't really sure what to expect and kind of went into this one without much beforehand research. Our guide was pretty entertaining and the tour was enjoyable and informative. The best part for sure is the slide, the 8 year kid came out in me again and my wife and I were screaming, laughing... Our guide met us and started into the history of the salt mine. You will have to bear with them as they tell the tale several times over in at least 4 different languages. It took several hours and towards the end I was ready to get out of there. You can see my pics of our day in Hallstatt... More

The tour was very interesting especially the ride drown the salt mines which is one of the best attraction. To make the experience more realistic and interesting they made you wear the salt miners uniform. When you finish the tour try walking down the hill instead as you will come to a few vantage point for some great photo taking... More

It is a unique experience in hallstatt. when you take the cable car up to salz welten the view is superb. Inside the salz welten there is a 60m meters slide. first you will feel afraid but after a short one you just feel you want one more time.

We loved this lightly energetic and informative tour. The location is so unique and seminal to the importance and wealth of Austria throughout history. We are early 60's and coped fine with the slides. A highlight of our long European holiday. Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful villages imaginable and worth at least a day at least.

I like everything about Hallstatt, from the view of the lake, to this Salz Welten. I got a guide for the tour, and it was fun to experience it by myself. The guide was so helpful and was good in explaining the times during salt mining in the past. We got to wear clothes provided by them, and went for... More

This is an easy trip to the saltmines above Hallstatt. You get interesting information about the history of the area, and a trip through the mines, including a couple of long slides which were fun for my husband and me, and we're in our 60's.. I most enjoyed like the views from the tram and mountaintop above the town of... More
