We loved this lightly energetic and informative tour. The location is so unique and seminal to the importance and wealth of Austria throughout history. We are early 60's and coped fine with the slides. A highlight of our long European holiday. Hallstatt is one of the most beautiful villages imaginable and worth at least a day at least.

I like everything about Hallstatt, from the view of the lake, to this Salz Welten. I got a guide for the tour, and it was fun to experience it by myself. The guide was so helpful and was good in explaining the times during salt mining in the past. We got to wear clothes provided by them, and went for... More

This is an easy trip to the saltmines above Hallstatt. You get interesting information about the history of the area, and a trip through the mines, including a couple of long slides which were fun for my husband and me, and we're in our 60's.. I most enjoyed like the views from the tram and mountaintop above the town of... More

We figured while we were in Hallstatt we should go to the oldest salt mines. We were very glad we did because this was a really cool experience. a walk through the mines where we learned the history of the mines and then we got to go on the wooden slides that took you from one level of the mines... Initially I was quite apprehensive when my friend wanted to visit the Salt Mine. Austria was the 4th country we visited in the 2 weeks we traveled. As we have been traveling quite extensively, I was quite tired and worried that we have to do a fair bit of walking. From the cable car, we have to walk some distance... More

I have to confess that during the walk into the mine I was feeling a bit claustrophobic but once the caves opened out and the tour began I lost that feeling completely and had an absolute blast! Not only do you get to slide on the wooden slides, but the little training that takes you out of the mine just... More

We had a fantastic guide, a lady who really made this experience even more enjoyable. The guided tour is quite long, but our three kids liked it during the whole programme, especially the slides! Alsothe information you got is very well presented with multimedia presentation. Worth the visit and the time!

We were barely going to make it on the las trip to the salt mine. We booked the full ticket and headed running to the entrance. We first took the funicular. It was such a lovely ride. Then we walked uphill for around 10 minutes. Great views on the wa and we were so lucky with the weather too. So... More

I'll have to admit that I was a little skeptical when my husband said he wanted to tour a salt mine in Hallstatt, Austria (not far from Salzburg), but I was pleasantly surprised. The tour, which claims it is the oldest salt mine in Euope, was interesting, fun, informative and had spectacular views of the lake and mountains. You start... More
