Spent a week at the beginning of January here and ski ed for 5 days. Some nice wide nursery slopes and a few easy blues, lots of reds though which are obviously harder for an inbetween beginner and intermediate skier like me! Lots of places to stop rest and chill in the warm sunshine. Staff at the gondola and chair... More

We go to Grandvalira now for several years. For us it's a perfect place to ski or snowboard. It is big enough, and they have a lot of things to do. The people are very friendly. You can park your car near a ski lift, in Cannilo you have a parking garage, for only 3 euro /day. In Tarter you... More

200km of ski area with a 110 ski slopes! Amazing choice for any levels and ages! Easy access by Encamp! When I first skied here last year, I was amazed with the quality of the snow (comparing to the East of Canada and USA, where I skied often on the completely iced slops) and the weather conditions! Often, it is... More

One of the things I find most satisfying in a ski holiday is to sit down in a little mountain restaurant, drinking a hot chocolate. If I had wanted a motorway service station restaurant, which is the standard in Grandvalira, I would have stayed in the UK. Riba Escorxada, Espiolets and Grau Roig all feature these soulless buildings and another... More

The resort is good, we went to Tarter and Canillo sectors. Perfect to go with your family, we enjoyed it so much. But there are a few disadvantages. There are not enough slopes for begginers, not even in the Canillo sector, which is meant to be for families. There were ice in many places, but I guess that this is... More

The ski-resort as such is embedded in scenic landscape. The ski-runs are broad and fairly easy making the area very well suited for families with children. The real downside unfortunately are the old ski-lifts with frequent fall-outs (I experienced at least 2-3 times per day being stuck in the lift for 5-10 minutes), also resulting in fairly long waiting times... We have been 4 consecutive years skiing at Pas de la Casa. Its a pitty that the TK "el cubil" is not enough to bring people from Grau Roig to the rest of the resort. We are fed up of queueing for at least 20 minutes to pick up "el cubil"

Ski area is vast and at times challenging. However there wasn't quite enough good snow to allow all levels of ability to prosper. Too much ice and insufficient depth! It didn't stop us skiing but that is a risk you take anywhere at this time of year. A visit in February 2014 was excellent as regards snow conditions.

The resort has potential but they miss on many points. Grooming of runs is inadequate - in their defense it was very windy so there are limits to what can be done. Cues for buying lift tickets are needlessly chaotic. Cues for getting on a lift are totally lacking in organization making it a rugby scrum. Makes the experience unpleasant.... More
