I have been twice to the ancients sites in Kato Paphos in recents years but my last visit had me questioning why this site is still on the UNESCO list of important site Why: no one on site to guide, most info boards on the site are damages or distroyed, some of the site ancients mosaic are no more protected... more

This park was rather disappointing after our visit to other temples earlier in the week. The dig site is poorly signposted and the walkways badly maintained. We had no guide so it was impossible to gain any information about the mosaics or ruins. For a better day out, go to Kourion or the The Sanctuary of Aphrodite. more

We were slightly disappointed to find Paphos is very touristy and even the old town does not have any interesting buildings, eg pretty square, attractive streets. Apart from the ancient sites and the market (good for lace, embroidery and leather) there was not much there. The highlight of our stay was an excursion with Nic Tours to the villages where... more

From our Costa Concordia cruise visit in February 2008, we took the Paphos tour. At that time of year it was cool & rainy. No need to worry about hot sun or water to carry. We did enjoy this ancient site, especially the mosaics! If you're off a cruise ship & enjoy ancient sites, you'll like this place. The harbor... more

Paphos has spectacular archaeology within easy walking distance of harbour and town. Spend a day or half day and it is no longer free on Sundays. Mosaics and hypercausts/ odeon/ etc cover a long period and were destroyed and preserved by an earthquake. House of Dionysus is almost intact floor of Roman villa with a splendid mosaic depicting the first... more

The Archaeological park is a must see when in paphos ,one thing is you need a comfortable shoes a hat because there is not a lot of shade and water this is needed for all sites . The mosaics are stunning when you think that they are 2000 years old for more ifo on the mosaics go to backintime.com more

We visited Kato Paphos on a Sunday and found it was free to enter on that day. We went in August so it was hot and dusty, but an early start means you can finish by lunchtime. Thoroughly enjoyed the mosaics, houses, history - in fact we will go back again this year when we visit Cyprus. more

The Archaelogical Park has a number of houses containing mosaics, which really are quite stunning if interested in greek history, with good plaques explaining information about who's house it was, what restoration work has been done, etc. There was also the small ruins of a castle, an odeon, the city walls (good lookout with views), and a small tourist information... more

This is a large site just next to Paphos Harbour. A number of houses have been excavated and several beautiful mosaics have been revealed. I have included one that I saw in the House of Theseus (I think). All the others of of this quality. The site also includes a large Odeon, a semicircular amphitheatre that's nice to sit in... more
