With friends stopped off here for a walk round and some lunch in one of the various restaurants in the village. We were on our way to the Troodos mountains and this place broke up the journey. Lots of lace shops and the impression was of a tourist stop off point for many bus trips from the coastal towns. While... More

Omodos is a must visit if you are in Cyprus. There is dignity and class all over the place in Omodos. Beautiful stone roads , old houses , people full of character , fantastic food and things to buy.

This place is full of history and beauty and at the same time spirituality. Here you can do a tasting of traditional Cypriot wines, to buy traditional hande made souvenirs and visit the ancient holy temple. You will never forget a trip into this place.

We were told this was a beautiful mountain village. Having visited some really breathtaking mountain villages in Andalucia, Spain I was really disappointed on reaching Omodos. It's not especially picturesque. All the shops sell the same thing - tablecloths mainly and none of the restaurants were particularly appealing. It made a change from beach and pool but I wouldn't say... More

This village is a 30-40 minute drive up the hills from Kourion (see my review) and its beach. Omodos hosts an ancient monastery worth a visit. The taverns are all very cosy and welcoming, but try to explore the narrow streets before you make your choice. The food is rustic, but one of the best you might in similar places.... More

It is really worth it. Nice tavernas, a picturesque square and a really holly place with the church in honor of the Holly Cross. Try the "arkatena" they are worth it. if not want to attend the Holly Cross festival go on September 14th

A really lovely small Village, well worth a visit. Narrow cobbled streets & very friendly residents. A visit here is a must. Several very good Restaurants/Tavernas to eat in or small cafes for snacks. A visit to the wineries nearby is a must, as is the Museum in the Village.

Omodos is one of those villages that comes alive with tourists in the daytime and with locals at night time. Drive up from the direction of Limassol and turn right at the first sign to the village and you will find a free car park down the hill on your right. Park here and walk down to the bottom of... A beatiful scenic village! You can find really nice taverns with excellent meat meze such as the tavern of Kyr-Yiannis! Recommended to stay at one of the beautiful stone villas for rent!
