On the thickly wooded pine forested Troodos mountain slopes, this village has been restored with lots of traditional stonework. The landscape is fantastic - though it was raining heavily with slight snowfalls - there are lots of charming tavernas around, and shops selling local produce such as lokums,(turkish delight) sutzoukos, and other goodies. Omodos is not far from Limassol off... More

A village for the tourist to see many aspects of the traditional life and foods in a village, but like almost all the villages in Cyprus that draw the tourist masses, here also everything is overpriced.

Loved the Monastery, the museums, the food and local wine. Picturesque alley ways. The surrounding hills with vineyards and almond trees are a painter's delight. Best visited in autumn and early spring for best colour.

A pleasant day spent in this pretty village with wonderful taverns and wine making mills. The tiny corridors and pebble stoned roads make this village unique and a must see. Spend the day visiting the small stores and buy home made jams and honey.

You feel that you have stepped back a few centuries when you see the olde worlde houses in the narrow streets, the old monastery, the tree lined square and the ladies sitting outside their doors lace making. The monastery has fascinating artefacts and there is a glass workshop and a lot of small restaurants. Just sit outside and watch the... More

Omodos is a very pretty village at the foot of the Troodos mountain. It has a pebbled road with tavernas and gift shops either side leading down to a very interesting monastery that you can walk around. The village has side streets leading off the Main Street with further small shops and beautiful old houses. There is ample car parking... More

If the heat gets too much then jump in the car and head to Omodos for a view of the simple life of the villagers. A really interesting visit.
