Top winery

This must be one of the best winery in Cyprus. I always make the drive up here at the beginning of our holiday to buy some wine to drink while on holiday and take home.

At Lambouri they make excellent wines especially the higher quality wines that are priced around 12 euro. We especially liked the cabernet sauvignon - great nose - and the Maratheftiko. Also the Special Reserve was great: velvety, no tannines, complex. We understood that Lambouri seems to operate more on their own while many other winemakers have more mutual contact. Very... More

We read so much about Lambouri wines that we made it a point to visit the winery. However, upon arrival, we were faced with a hostess with only two words in her vocabulary: yes and no. This cut the visit to 1/10 as we made a quick tasting, bought a few bottles and left. But to be more fair to... More

We visited the winery in May, it was quiet but we received good attention from the winemaker - he let us try a number of different wines which were all very good, we toured the winery which was interesting, more modern than we had expected. We bought several bottles of wine home with us including a bottle of Commandaria which... More

Went to Troodos on a Sunday so the winery in Platres was closed but we were offered wine tasting in a really nice little village called Omodos. Lambouri wine is very good and the people at Lambouri are really lovely. They made us feel so welcome. My husband who is a bit of a wine expert was very pleased with... More

Mr. Roland was our guide when we visited the winery. It was very interesting tour and at the end we had the chance to taste the very best commandaria on the whole island!

What a gem! This winery simply has Cyprus's best looking tasting room, very professional and very clean production facility, and, best of all, beautifully stacked wine cellar (8 meters under ground with over hundred thousand bottles). When you want to taste their 16 different kinds of wine, each one of them is presented with description and recommendation. In addition, staff... More

Read the previous reviews, and decided to take a look and drove to Platres (35 min. from Limassol). Apart from the much cooler temperatures up in the Troodos mountains, the winery looked like a million dollars ( especially having visited some wineries in Cyprus before). The people were super friendly, the winemaker, Mr. Lambouri, gave a personal tour, explained everything... More
