Perfect views (especially during sunset) from the south/east part of the lake, with Stavrovouni mountain and Hala Sultan Tekke reflecting in the calm lake waters and the Flamingos lazily walking in the lake.

Not a stone's throw from Larnaca Airport are the great salt flats. Covering both sides of the road, and bordered by a beautiful Mosque, the sight is awe inspiring in summer and must be breathtakingly beautiful in winter when the flamingos are nesting. Just fields of salt I hear you say, just take a look says I !!

Salt everywhere. Dried up Must visit again in the winter to see the flamingos. Crazy friend went into the dry lake with high heels on to collect salt.

Impressive view, we also visited the hala sultan temple at the same time, very hot so best to go late in afternoon.

To all those who visit in the summer months, the lake is dry. You do have some trees and you can sit down but nothing else to do or see, no birds, no animals and almost no people.

We have never caught the famous flamingoes at this salt lake but they usually appear in winter and Cyprus is our summer destination so that figures. A vast expanse of salt stretching out as far as the eye can see, it is quite a sight.

Already the salt lake had dried up, earlier than usual. The ground is soft so not advisable to walk out into it.

This is an amazing sight and a visit to the temple a must. It is believed Mohammed's Aunt is buried here. Do not give money for tour as it is better to explore

Salt lake si located in western part of Larnaca, it is interesting to see nature salt lake but there is nothing more, no signs, paths or anything that you can do over there! Short visit is enough!
