Beautiful island (sandbar) just a short boat ride from Fuseta. Water taxi available at a very reasonable price for convenient drop off and pickup. Miles of pristine beach - private and unspoiled. We visited in April and the weather was perfect - a lovely breeze on the Atlantic side and sheltered cove on the other that was just perfect for... More

Fuzeta is a beautiful beach with the water at an awesome temperature. The water is also clean and calm (the waves rarely show up) and the beach as enough space for all the people that want to go there (it is a bit like an undiscovered beach, so it is even better because you don't have to share you space... Sunshine on a beach in December, what can be better! A bit windy, but clear blue sky and about 18C mad a perfect break from wet and dark UK. As it was out of season the ferry bus was not in service but we got the local island taxi boat and had a little bit of paradise to ourselves.

Just a couple of areas of umbrellas with sunbeds - a bargain at 5 Euros each a day. Beach cafes adjacent and portaloos nearby. But loads of sand to just sit on and you can get away from the crowd. Most days the Atlantic rollers are too heavy for a decent swim but the solution is to walk the short... More

Ferry from Fuseta to the island is frequent and cheap. There are a couple of basic cafes, toilets and first aid centre near the ferry quay. It doesn't take long to walk away from these to your own private patch of beach. The island has two types of pale fine sandy beach, the waves of the Atlantic and the calm... More

Amazing beach experience. Stunning. Unspoiled. Loved it. Tip - get the ferry from Fuzeta, walk all the way along the beach to the other end of the Island (around 6km at a guess) have a snack at one of the bars, take the ferry to Olhau, have a look around the town and return by train to Fuzeta A platform.... Amazing place to relax and enjoy the sun with a few beers. The beaches are perfect. Sometimes a bit wavy and therefore challenging for young children. GREAT for collecting shells. Perfect time had by all.

The man who runs the taxi boats also does dolphin watching tours and short fishing trips. We did a 2.5 hour sport fishing trip one morning and had a great time. We caught a load of fish and the main man was helpful and professional. At 30Euros each it was not expensive given the bag of fish we took back... More
