But the eleven months of the year all one can do is stand on the pedestrian mall in front and look at a beautiful building. But it's just as beautiful as thsands of others in Europe. Fortunately, it's found on almost any random stroll arnd Haute Ville so it's not as if there was any special effort made to visit.

The Duke's Grand Palace is open for visiting only in August. So there are quite some people wanting to visit when it is the time. I recommend to buy tickets possibly a few days in advance, especially if you would like an English tour. They can be purchased at the Luxembourg Tourist Office closeby at Place Guillaume. The tour is... More

The Grand Palace is only open to tourists during the month of August. Tickets need to purchased in advance at the City Tourist Office ( 30 Place Guillaume II) at which time you choose the language of your tour. We have done the English tour twice with guests. There is a difference dependant on which guide you get, though both... More

45 minute tour of some of the interior rooms in the Palace. Book a week in advance for the English version. Our guide knew a lot about the Royal family and their significance during important historical battles as well as which pieces in the home were acquired from important historical figures - which was very interesting. The interiors above all... More

I love this city to be honest. Everything about it. I love the Palace being right kurplunk in the middle of it. The lights with the faces that follow you as you pass. The guard, pounding the ground back in forth in front. I am out and about a lot in Luxembourg. I have heard that the duke and his... More

The building was nice and you can watch the guards pacing up and down and we were lucky enough to see the guards charge. The best part was watching the Chinese tourists trying to get their photos with the moving guard

We went on the guided tour of the Grand Duke's Palace (in English). The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the Grand Dukes of Luxembourg. we found it very informative. It is worth booking this in advance, which can be done by email (to the Luxembour City Tourist Office), as once we got to the Tourist Office... More
