We recently visited this attraction and it was so interesting! The town itself is quaint and stunningly pretty, with plenty of little places to eat/ drink. If the weather is good you can make the most of the lovely river and take a walk - perhaps watching the local fisherman at the river banks. Food seems to be well priced... More

After one of the owners sold off bits of his chateau to fund himself, this fairytale castle is being restored to its formr glory! Love it

Chateau de Vianden was very nicely restored. There is a few things to see in the castle. I was pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful Marc Chagall's collection at the end of the tour of the castle.

Considering the majestic exterior and gorgeous views from the castle, the interiors were rather underwhelming to be honest. I appreciate that it has been restored from ruins, but the furniture seemed lacking, and it made the place feel rather fake.

If you are looking for great summer day, this is a great attraction. I drove from Frankfurt to Lux and the ride was breathtaking. beautiful country side and great area to walk. The views were awesome.

This stunning castle is perched on top of an outcropping in a somewhat remote corner of tiny Luxembourg. The village below is nearly as charming though highly tourist-oriented. There are numerous restaurants including some along the river that runs through the village. The castle itself has been restored but there are still some original portions of the structure, as well... More

If you or your kids are Harry Potter fans, this will be a great experience. The Vianden Castle has nothing to do with Harry Potter however, it looks similar to Hogwarts and during the medieval festival had owls and all sorts of shows and vendor booths that gave it that feel. I'm not certain how interesting it would be without... More

Nice castle, lots of activity. But we were there when there was a festival. Might be more sober in other months.

This is a beautiful chateau/castle that was in almost in total ruins and is now being lovingly restored. The audio tour was probably the best we have experienced, giving just enough historic info and interesting trivia to keep us fascinated. We appreciated all the research that has been done to make the restoration as accurate as possible. It is a... More

I went to Vianden using train from Luxembourg city to Ettelbruck, and continue with Bus 570 from Ettelbruck Gare to Vianden. Once I went down the bus, the first thing that caught my eyes is this chateau in the top of the hill. I went up there using the Vianden Chairlift. From Vianden Chairlift station to chateau, you will need... More
