We thoroughly enjoyed visiting this 13th century (or thereabouts) well preserved and interesting castle. The town of Vianden and surrounding sites are well worth a three day holiday. Very pleasent with many photo ops. more
Traveling to Vianden, you are driving up a hill and come around a corner to see the breathtaking site of the castle on a hill. Just like in a fairy tale. I visited Chateau de Vianden during my last day in Luxembourg. It is an easy day-trip from Luxembourg City. The Chateau/Castle can be accessed from the road proper or, more interestingly, from a chairlift on the other side of the river.
