very interesting and a good commentary about the history of the harbour. Also good too see it from a different perspective on the water and how big the grand harbour is which was amazing. And seeing how the other half live with their super yachts moored there. worth doing

Interesting. The commentary points out the places of interest and what buildings used to be used for. Even if you are not interested in history/architecture it is nice to be out on the water.

Visiting the island of Malta this is a must; all the guides speak a number of languages and cover the harbour's history back 7000 years through the crusades, WW2 and up to date with multi million Euro yachts.

We opted for Luzzu as the boats can bring passengers closer to the inlets along the harbour and cities around Valletta. We took the sliema ferry crossing from Valletta as most boats depart from here. Commentary was very good and the boat brought us in close to the shores. Not crowded on board with plenty of seating. Also gave us... More

The waterfront area is fantastic. To stand high up and view the Valletta Harbour and the Grand Harbour is great but almost impossible to see it all as they are vast! Take one of the bus tours instead, some include a boat trip around the harbours and usually with a language option to help understand the importance of this island... More

We booked a Grand Harbour Tour with Capt Morgan Tours on the sailing boat Fernando and it was a great way to view Valletta and get to know its history. This was our first trip to Malta and it was great to view the fortifications of the three cities from the Sea. We stated from Sleima via a pleasantly choppy... More

I have been to malta 5 times--this is the first time I have viewed the fortifications of the three cities from the Sea. We stated from sleima- pleasantly choppy-a run round the creek and then out to sea to get to the Grand Harbour. At the bow end all of the passengers on the port side of the boat had... More

Recommended as an early trip on the holiday as it really gives you a good picture of how the island developed, and makes you appreciate the scale of Valletta's walls and the importance of the harbours.

We thoroughly enjoyed this 90 minute boat trip around Valletta's two harbours. We had walked a lot in Valletta itself and found it very interesting to see the historic, fortified walls, and the buildings, from a different angle. The sea was rather choppy on the day we toured, and I was glad we were on a bigger boat as we... More

We did the 2 Harbours Latini Cruise (Marsamxetto and Grand Harbours) which lasts about 90 minutes - really interesting. You see all the sights from a different angle without having to walk (!) and as you sail around there is a very good commentary explaining exactly where you are, the purposes of the different docks and the buildings you are...
