This area had excellent views of the bay and was very well unkept. At 1600 you can see the cannon shot almost daily. Apart from this, though, there is not a lot to do here. It's work a visit (free), but you don't need a lot of time.

This is one of my favorite places in Valletta. Grab a book, order a cappuccino, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as well as the view.

Great view over the harbour from the gardens, but the best thing for me was the music that was playing in the area where the canons are. The views are more interesting than the actual gardens.

I think this garden probably has one of the best views in Malta and a great place if you want to take 360 panoramic photos. There’s a canon salute at the saluting battery Malta at 12PM, try to go before that time so you can listen a bit of history of Malta, enjoy the view and feel the impact of... More

Love this place, always ended up there each time we went to Valletta, which was most days. Plenty of benches to sit and rest. Lovely little cafe with remarkably cheap prices considering where it is. Beautiful views. One of my favourite places.

Rest, relax and reflect upon the history that has unfolded in the harbor below. This is one of most strategic positions in Malta, as is evidenced by the battery of antique canons facing the water. This spot is beautifully maintained and is a very important element of centuries of Maltese history. It's a perfect place to end a day of... More

I always visit the upper Barracka gardens when in Malta. The views are amazing and it's so peaceful and pleasant. I usually eat my sandwich there then get a coffee.

No visit is complete in Valletta without visiting the Upper Barrakka Gardens! These gardens are full of history. The various monuments are a living proof! The highlight of these gardens is the balcony overlooking the Grand Harbour from where you get breathtaking views! Everyday at noon a gun salute is fired!
