We arrived at the gardens just before noon and stood by the railings overlooking all the cannons, so had a lovely view of the soldier firing the noon day cannon. Although there were lots of people it never felt crowded and our view was not spoilt. The gardens themselves are small but very well kept and, prove a calming place... More

The garden, and its plants and flowers, was a nice relief from the late summer heat. It was a good display of native plants. It certainly was a good place to rest after the hills of Valletta itself!

If in Valettta this is not to be missed. The views over the grand harbour are amazing you can see Vittoriosa, Senglea and Cospicua also know as the three Cities across the way. Also great for watching the cruise ships coming in and out as you can see where they dock. The gardens are well kept and maintained. There is... More

The citadel of Valetta is given a real perspective from the gardens from the elevated position. There is an amazing lift to take you from the gardens down to the boats which can take you across to Vittoriosa and the 3 cities.

Turn right towards the Valletta Water front , Where the cruise ships dock, plus restaurants . The gardens are very well laid out with a food... More

When we are in Valetta we love to come here to see the views and go down in the lift to the Waterfront or more than often to sit at the cafe and stroke the cats and relax This is a MUST when in Valetta As the gardens are very pretty

Do not visit Valletta without spending time in these well kept gardens with a unique panoramic view of Valletta Harbour and the Three Cities. Spend time for a lazy snack and a drink and if you have the time take the modern lift for a return ride down to the harbour itself.

The Upper Barrakka Gardens, (which can be reached by an elevator from the lower gardens) has a great panoramic view of the coastline and the Ft. Rinella area. You can see the saluting cannons, walk through the gardens and admire the monuments. There are several places to get food.

Love this place it has views to die for and a lift that takes Cruise passengers down to the harbourside. What I didn't like was the modernisation of the monuments and plaques which appear to be airbrushing out the British history relics replacing them with others dedicated to Maltese politicians and believe it or not Albert Einstein!!!
