Amazing, the gardens are beautiful, the atmosphere is relaxed, the views of the bay are gorgeous. It's well worth paying the €2 to go on to the Saluting Battery too, expecially at 12 or 4th for the canons firing.

My daughter was married April 2014 in this venue. The views are spectacular across the harbour. Instead of walking down the isle, we walked through the upper gardens, which must have attracted alot of tourist attention. All who attended agreed that the choice of venue was great and fortunately the weather was perfect.

Well the lift to the gardens is 60 metres high and the view is breathtaking. It saves you walking up 295 steps.

The panoramic view of the Grand Harbour is absolutely stunning as are the old cities of Senglea and Vittoriosa. There is no best time to visit The Upper Barrakka. It is beautiful at every time of the day. Entrance is free. There is the salute with the old cannons at noon. You may use the suspended lift (free of charge)... More

A wonderful spot for people and ship watching. There is a panoramic view of Grand Harbour and at mid-day the Noon Gun is fired. There is plenty of seating and there is a small outdoor café. The gardens are worth an examination as on this visit there was a wonderful display of multi-coloured pansies. The toilets are in the process... More

Apart from having the best view of the Grand Harbour and the Three Cities, these gardens would be nice anywhere. Not large, but well designed, with lovely walls and terraces. Nice statuary and interesting memorabilia mounted on the walls. Lighting at night is dramatic, very well done. Overlooks the Saluting Battery, with good views of the firing of the Noon... More

A must stop point on your Valetta tour. The view is amazing and you can grasp and understand it's importance as a defensive position over the ages. Be there at "Cannon fire" time!

We went at four pm by chance and saw cannon being fired. Very atmospheric, great harbour views and lovely setting

Amazing views, so worth of a visit! The docks are visible with all the ships. Here is also a cafe there so you can have some coffee or a cold drink and relax for a bit.
