Our first view of Malta was of the waterfront from our ship and it has to be one of the best Harbours to enter, and it is lively place to walk , and see lit up later.

You can go quite some distance along the beautiful harbour and coastline with impressive drops to the water below, plenty of little places to explore with quirky steps to viewing points and views stretching out across the stunning crystal blue seas. Rejoin the hustle and bustle any time you want by darting up any little side street. It's not a... More

Great place for an evening stroll, a drink and dinner. A pity all the restaurants serve virtually the same food. If you are tired of pizza and pasta and don't like burgers, the choice is a bit limited. But good atmosphere, good value and if you are lucky, a bonus is watching a cruise ship prepare for sailing.

We toured the town on a hop on off bus. We could have spent a few days here and Mdina. So much history here, so many nations fighting for this small island, very interesting.

Great place to dine with family and friends. There are a variety of restaurants, inc Chinese, Steak Houses, Maltese, Italian, etc Recommend always a reservation as it fills up . Great in the summer or warm days. Outside dining is very nice. View is fab.

We crossed on the water taxi (€1.50) from Sliema which is a great way to arrive in Valletta. The views of the city as you cross the small stretch of sea are very impressive. There is a very steep climb up from the harbour on arrival and the last water taxi back is about 6pm so no good if you... More

We actually visited Easter last year. The waterfront and the city as a whole are very interesting with nice views and architecture. Be warned the city itself is on a hill with very steep streets - this makes it extremely hard to get around if you have mobility problems.

We visited here both during the day and also early evening. During the day it was relatively quiet but picturesque, however in the evening it was lively and bustling with lots of bars and restaurants open. It was easy to walk here from the old city and made more interesting by using the impressive lift from the gardens down to... More

The best view is from St.Julian . Then take the ferry accross to Valetta .It is very cheap and it is worth the view. You could also take a day trip from St Julian on a Captain Morgan boat around Valetta and then around the island. The trip takes a whole day and lunch is provided as well as a... More
