The Savina Creativity Centre in the Mago Village is a really superb place for purchasing local foods and gifts. There are demonstrations to show how various things are produced and in the Savina shop one can buy a rich assortment of edible products including delicious pates and pastes (eg artichoke and olive), sun-dried tomatoes, conserves, pastries, tarts, biscuits etc etc.... This tour felt like a whole sales pitch for their own products but included some interesting parts (like seeing the actual factory). Kids thought it was rather boring but at least its free of charge and the fact that you can buy some nice local products afterwards makes it worth while.

The dairy factory produces yogurts, cheese, rkotta and the traditional Gozo cheeselets. On the other hand, Savina... More

It was an interesting visit as I saw the whole process of how the tomatoes are processed in less in than 24 hrs from being hand picked by farmers from all over Malta and Gozo. The tour was very informative and we also received a free gift as a souvenir. I really recommend this experience.
