Had a couple of good beers in this bar on a recent visit to Reykjavik. Very chilled, good music, nice mix of people. Looked like there was an area on the side where you could make your own waffles if you fancied it. What more could you want!

Stopped here for a beer and paid UK price as it was on special until 1am!! Enough said. Cosy place with a very gothic look. Would come back

We stopped in Kaffibarinn as we saw that it was their happy hour. I love Icelandic beer (especially the locally crafted Kaldi) and this place has it on offer during happy hour (650kr... a steal!). Needless to say I was ecstatic! The bar had a nice, cosy vibe and there were some good tunes playing. It certainly wasn't pretentious in... More

we stopped in kaffibarinn for a quick cup of coffee late in the afternoon, and we were the only ones in there short of a couple other americans. we ordered our coffees and the bartender gave us a plate of cookies, as well. we sat in the back by ourselves and took our time and enjoyed ourselves. the vibe was... We popped in as a must-do drinking establishment in the city and I had a great Indian beer whilst a male choral society practiced upstairs. A surreal experience but if you're in the area you won't be disappointed.

Stopped in for a drink on a Saturday night about 9pm. Didn't think much of this place and certainly didn't want a second drink. Staff were dismissive and the whole vibe was boring and pretentious.

This coffee bar is the best in Iceland. With a mix of international guests and people from Iceland, the atmosphere is genuine with a moral on a pleasently low level!! They also serve alcoholic beverages, have very good music (live as well as DJ:s) and does not close until early in the morning!

As an Englishman, my first real awareness of Iceland as a place to visit was back in the 90's, when Blur frontman Damon Albarn fell in love with the place and brought the band to Reykjavik to record one of their albums. So the story goes, he actually bought (or invested) in one of the bars on the Laugavegur strip... More

Actually this review is not about food/drinks/service (this is a normal bar as billions in the world), but about general atmosphere/clientele, that according to me is part of the overall quality of a place. We entered Koffibarrin as it seemed to as a normal pub where to drink a normal beer. We couldn't know it is considered by people the... More
