Redoing the loft the atmosphere of the old life was kept as much as possible, even so that the salt smell still lingers, but the main object was to provide ideal settings for showing quality Icelandic nature and documentary films. We had read about Cinema No2 before we came to Reykjavik and loved the idea of it (very DIY). We had been down to the harbour area for food before (Sea Baron and the Burger Joint) so we knew where we were going, and what time to be there. We arrived slightly early for the showing, and were welcomed by... More

Definitely worth a visit - the films provide you with a close up and personal view of the power of Iceland's volcanos. I was lucky enough to visit on a day when the film maker was there and had a nice conversation with him about the films. More

We (my wife and I) visited this cinema on the last Sunday in April, which was a beautiful sunny day. We wanted to learn more about Iceland's landscape and about its volcanoes and the three films available here (there are more in the summer) treated these subjects. The films were fantastic, giving you an up-close view of the famous 2010... More

We visited in March and our last day for exploring Reykjavik was not our best weather day but we were not going to waste it. During our exploring we came across a postcard advertising the movie and suggested going to the cafe downstairs to purchase a coffee to enjoy during the movie. Perfect, the setting was relaxing, we were in... More

I don´t understand why the last "guest" didn´t rate Cinema2 in Reykjavik favorably - or not, for that matter - And e.g. where are the facts that he/her based his/her opinion on? Did that person, in question, actually visited the Cinema2 - and/or lived and experienced a visit there? (if the person, who wrote, is a real one). Best rgds. More

After reading such wonderful reviews on trip advisor we thought this was the place to go if we had a free couple of hours. In fact, we planned our day around it even before we were on the plane to iceland. We arrived, today (march 17th) at 5.20 ( 10 mins before the films were due on) and waited outside... More

Dear Hadiejw, We, the owners, are extremely sorry that your trip to our cinema ended the way it did. We are away for a short time but left the cinema in the hands of others. We can ensure you, and others, that guests coming to our Cinema will not be left standing outside closed doors without any explanation. Again we... More

In our recent trip to iceland we had the good fortune to attend a viewing of the volcanic eruption in a little theater called cinema2 (the theater has the atmosphere of a village coffee shop) it is located in close proximity to the harbor and affords you the opportunity to appreciate the scenery either befor or after the showing. The... More
